The house is of an open plan design consisting of a fully equipped kitchen and spacious lounge, and 2 delightful ensuite bedrooms with wonderful views across the valley towards Wansfell Pike. Immediately outside the house is a lovely patio complete with garden funiture, and benefiting from stunning views. The garden then slopes away from the house down a meandering lawn with mature borders to the 'secret' garden which is a beautifully sheltered sun trap. Originally built as a barn that was part of a working farm, this property has been lovingly converted to offer accommodation for groups of up to eight people. Accommodation overview: Backbarrow, 1 1/2 miles from the South of lake Windermere, was home to the Backbarrow Ironworks who produced domestic iron goods such as kettles and box irons but were also renowned for the manufacture of cannons and other armaments. The days of industry are long gone and Backbarrow is now a super village visited by holidaymakers exploring the nearby Haverthwaite Railway which is within walking distance of the cottage on the A590 and offers special events such as Pensioner, Thomas, Diesel and Santa weekends. Another nearby attraction is The Lakeland motor museum recently opened and within walking distance of the property. Furness Wildlife Park is nearby for an enjoyable day out. The property is situated in an area that is accessible to all areas of the National Park by either car or public transport. Bens Row Cottage is in a quiet position in Brow Edge and has been lovingly restored and furnished to create a super holiday home. Flat screen TVs and large American style fridge dictate the contemporary and quality style throughout the interior whilst the enclosed garden with decked area continues the theme outside.

Accommodation overview: Beach side cottages always prove a popular choice with our guests in the South Lakes so when we had the opportunity to market a seaside retreat in Silverdale, we thought well, why not? Although not strictly Cumbria, this delightful seaside village is only a few miles from Kendal and a mere 20 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale making it an ideal base for exploring no less than three counties in one trip. An area of outstanding natural beauty, nature lovers will revel in the flora and fauna of the area as well as some excellent walking, a fabulous beach and wonderful views of the Lakeland Fells and Morecambe Bay.

Accommodation overview: Mid Row is a traditional Lakeland cottage in an enviable location, it is situated on the fell side above Glenridding, with lovely fell views from the windows and a view of the lake from the large garden. This is true walking country, Helvellyn can be accessed directly from the cottage as well as the many fells surrounding Ullswater. The nearest pub is only 400 yards and the village amenities and lakeside are 0.5 mile away.
