Thatcher’s Leggett is a lovely stone cottage nestling in the grounds of the owners own beautiful 16th century thatched Devon Longhouse, just a few minutes stroll from the village centre and path leading to fabulous Croyde Bay. Perfect for keen walkers, there is also a bridleway / footpath leading from the doorstep all the way to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. The light, bright and spacious open plan living room with kitchen and dining area boasts a high vaulted ceiling, comfy seating and a wood burning stove, making it the cosiest of retreats at any time of year. An attractive twin bedroom is also situated on the ground floor together with a modern bathroom. From the entrance hallway a smart wooden staircase runs up to the mezzanine floor with a spacious galleried bedroom and ensuite cloakroom. Eclectic styling, sloping ceiling and lovely views over the surrounding countryside from the Velux style windows make this a really special room. As the cottage is semi detached a pathway runs a little way from the front door giving access to the neighbouring property, however a side door from the kitchen leads out to a private area with steps up to a pretty courtyard patio with far reaching countryside views, an ideal spot for daytime barbecues or drinks in the balmy summer evenings while the children are tucked up in bed. The friendly owners run a small bed & breakfast from their lovely home and so should a family decide to bring grandparents along they can stay in a room very close by. Guests in Thatcher’s Leggett are welcome to use all of the grounds of the main house, including a grassy area to the rear. Croyde offers everything you could need in a seaside village, a renowned surfing beach, character cottages and a great selection of pubs and restaurants.
