"A faultless holiday . The accommodation was warm and clean the reception staff were very welcoming friendly and informative and the facilities were first class. We took 2 boisterous 12 year olds for our sons birthday and they were occupied the whole time. There was archery with a personal tutor who I might add was brilliant. Look around the forest asthere are so many dens to "modify". The holiday that we had was faultless and I can't think of a single improvement - thankyou!"

"We would definitely recommend Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest. There is plenty to do both on and off the park. We went for 7 days and on 2 of the days did not leave the park. Our 6 year old enjoyed the play areas the childrens mountain bike trail and most of all the swimming pool. The park is very close to 2 National Trust parks that had great walks and cycle tracks. We will most definitely be going back again!!! "

"A beautiful setting quiet and peaceful. On a hot day the cabin remained lovely and cool and was a welcome haven after a hot day out touring. The staff had a lovely sense of humour and were helpful but not intrusive - you felt as if you had space but you knew they were there if needed."
Miss H, 07 July 2009

"A relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings. Rufford park is only a 5 minute walk where there are ducks to feed and an adventure playground opening in April 2008 so we just missed it but it looks great with a lovely tea room. The park itself was well equipped for both good and bad weather with indoor play facilities for all ages. The lodge had a log burner so there was no need for extra heating. We will be going again - a great holiday!"
Mr H, 24 February 2008

"The peaceful and tranquil setting of Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest made for a fantastic chilled holiday. For anyone who wants to escape from the hum drum of everyday life this is the place to go. Miss H, 28 September 2007

"The staff were the most friendly I have met this was not just the receptionist but the gardeners handymen etc. The animal corner was a lovely touch for the little ones our daughter named the cat Ginger! The accommodation was very good value for money with good facilities inside and so quiet in the evenings too. The location is central to Nottingham Lincoln etc with the woods great fun for dens etc - we will bring our bikes next time thanks!"

"Great park and fantastic log cabins!"
Mr A, 26 February 2007

"We would recommend Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest anytime. It is in a gorgeous setting with comfortable funiture and beautiful log cabins. It has lovely walks and a small petting zoo with lots of other things to do such as archery and the swimming pool. Everything is a very reasonable price and the location is great. It is fantastic for a relaxing holiday but we never wanted it to end. Rufford Mill is very nearby (less than 5 minutes) with two tearooms and a restaurant (carvery on Sundays). The tearoom near the abbey does a fantastic fry up hot chocolate and cakes. Do not hesitate to book this place it was clean and comfortable and the staff are the friendliest people ever! "
Mrs J, 07 February 2009

"I would recommend the parks location and the cabin."

"This was the perfect first holiday for my girlfriend and I - a romantic setting (in the woods log cabin log burner) easily accessible and on a budget! "
Mrs H, 10 March 2008

"Some of the staff were not very approachable. I phoned before arrival to ask about washing facilities and was assured that there would be a washing machine and clothes horse. There was no clothes horse on arrival and when I asked at reception I was told they did not supply them! On the last day of the holiday I found out that other lodges did have them! I also felt that the lodge was dusty and not very clean. The information did not say that we would have to provide our own towels washing up liquid bin bags toilet roll dish cloths etc. Considering how much we paid for the holiday I feel that some of this should have been provided."
Mrs D, 20 July 2009

"We have just had a most welcome and refreshing weekend away at Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest. We rook two boys aged 9 and 10 and they had a fabulous time exploring the vast woodland areas. The pool and indoor play area was excellent too we just did not have enough time to do everything. The Archery lessons were a huge highlight (thank you John for the great tuition. A great place for children to run free and ride bikes in a place where cars have a welcome rest at the side of their cabins. Very friendly and welcoming staff and the accommodation was very clean and warm. The benefit of beds made upon our arrival meant we could value every minute of our holiday. We did venture out not far! Across the road from the park is Rufford Country Park we had a super time roaming around the ruin of the great Abbey and were lucky enough to be there at the time the local art society were exhibiting their work what a treat. We also had lunch at the Sherwood Forest Park a short car journey away and looked in awe at the amazing 1000 year old Oak Tree. We cannot wait to book up again!"
