Exposed beams and trusses have helped the property retain much of its original charm, whilst the decoration has been undertaken to a very high standard. The living accommodation is arranged in an open-plan style and backs onto a private garden, perfect for enjoying a spot of outdoor-dining during the summer months. There is parking for up to 2 cars, although the pub, petrol station and a local restaurant are only 1 mile away.

Accommodation overview: The Stables is a superb self catering holiday cottage set in a leafy area of Stratford upon Avon called Shottery, an area best known for 'Anne Hathaway's Cottage' which is about 300 yards away. If you would like to enjoy the superb facilities (including the National Theatre) in Stratford then you really could not be more conveniently located, as everything is within walking distance. The property is a 5 star standard and has been beautifully modernised to provide spacious and light accommodation ideal for families or groups alike. Of particular appeal is the huge open plan living space which 'spills' onto the courtyard. Although this is a central location it is private and relatively peaceful and with an off street parking spot you can leave the car and stroll into town too. Set on a working farm within a small Cotswolds hamlet, the barn has nearby access to the rolling countryside of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The open plan living that the owners have created make it a real treat and clearly ideal for entertaining. Internally the barn has been carefully renovated and provides superb facilities and touches including the enormous windows in the centre of the building, which we feel will make it a firm favourite with customers. Situated in a peaceful village setting and just a few minutes stroll to the village pub. The village of Akeley makes a wonderful base from which to explore and is close to the historic market town of Buckingham which offers an array of restaurants pubs and independent shops. There is much to see and do in the area with something to suit all tastes from historical Oxford shopping at the world famous designer outlet at Bicester Village Blenheim Palace Silverstone Racing Circuit and numerous National Trust properties. Milton Keynes is a 15 minute drive where you will find shopping Xscape Snowdome cinema bowling ice skating and Go Karting and even a day trip to London is very accessible on the train. As a well as a host of golf courses for the keen golfer the surrounding countryside provides a network of beautiful footpaths cycle paths and bridleways.
