Accommodation overview: Set in stunning open countryside close to the pretty coastal village of Catterline, Brewlaw Cottage offers comfortable and well presented single storey holiday accommodation. The patio area takes advantage of the surrounding countryside, with views towards the sea in the distance. Catterline, well known locally for the Creel Inn and its excellent seafood, is only 1 mile away. Stonehaven has lots to offer 6 miles away, with a good selection of shops, an open air swimming pool and a very picturesque harbour, where you can sample some real ale! Just outside Stonehaven is Dunnottar Castle; this dramatic ruin is steeped in history. As you wander around the extensive buildings you are almost surrounded by sea with the cliffs below. The north east coastal trail runs for 165 miles, where you will find many interesting villages, fine sandy beaches and coves all waiting to be explored, you may even be lucky enough to spot bottle nose dolphins, seals, osprey or puffins. Nature lovers will feel very at home here with Fowlsheugh RSPB reserve being only a few miles away - the spectacular cliffs are packed with 130,000 seabirds, including razorbills, puffin and guillemot. Montrose Basin nature reserve is just 20 miles south, the centre provides superb views across the tidal basin, which inhabits seals, herons, eider and waders. Osprey can be seen in the summer and pink-foot geese in the winter. 20 miles to the north is Aberdeen, with its stunning granite architecture. Aberdeen has much to offer with a good selection of shops, restaurants and attractions. For the more adventurous there are lots of opportunities locally for walking and cycling and a number of golf courses the closest being the challenging course at Stonehaven with stunning cliff top views. Brewlaw Cottage is an ideal coastal retreat giving easy access to explore the north east of Scotland. The accommodation is all on ground floor, has oil central heating.

Accommodation overview: .Jacobite Cottage is a beautifully restored semi-detached steading conversion nestling in Glen Gyle at the head of Loch Katrine. The steading has a stunning, unique and tranquil setting within the very heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Positioned along a private water board road, accessing the north side of Loch Katrine, this location really gets you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage has original thick stone walls and a slate roof. The interior has been beautifully appointed with attention to all details. There is hard wood flooring in the main living area, with carpet in the bedroom and the shower room is fully tiled. The open plan living area makes for an ideal space to relax together. The lounge has a brown leather sofa and a wall mounted flat screen TV/DVD with freesat. Wi-Fi connection means you can have a working holiday if you wish. The bedroom is beautifully co-ordinated with a leather bed. The cottage has a private patio area outside and shared courtyard with ample parking. Glen Gyle itself is the birthplace of Robert Roy MacGregor, a famous Scottish folk hero and outlaw during the early 18th century. Loch Katrine is the main water supply for Glasgow and has a fascinating history. The famous Steamship Sir Walter Scott stops in at Stronachlachar in the summer months. This means you can enjoy a circular trip combining the steamship and a cycle ride on the private, surfaced road which runs past the steading. Loch Katrine is surrounded by wonderful wild countryside to explore, with mountains such as Ben Venue, Ben Ledi and the smaller Ben A' all within easy reach. At Inversnaid take a cruise on Loch Lomond or walk some of the West Highland Way. The Trossachs is an amazing location for outdoor enthusiasts as there are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling.
