The coastal resorts of Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Robin Hoods Bay are all within easy reach and are all worth a visit. Whitby with its famous Fish and Chips, quaint gift shops and tearooms, cobbled streets and stunning Abbey is not to be missed. The North York Moors steam train can be boarded at Whitby on route to the market town of Pickering stopping at Grosmont and Goathland (alias Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat).
