Known as the "Garden of Skye" this area has a rich fertile landscape and a fascinating rugged coastline with coves and beaches. It also has a rich cultural heritage and is home to the Scottish Gaelic College, Art Galleries and the Clan Donald Visitor Centre whose beautiful gardens must be seen. The Skye Bridge is 25 miles away and there are good shopping facilities in Kyle of Lochalsh and Broadford, both a half hour drive. The ferry from nearby Armadale crosses to Mallaig for access to the West Highland steam railway.
