Accommodation overview: This spacious ground floor Victorian villas sits back from the quiet road into Millport looking over the beautiful Kames Bay to the Isle of Arran. Only a two minute walk from s wonderfully sandy beach on this attractive island of Great Cumbrae off the West Coast of Scotland just a 10 minute ferry and under one hour drive from Glasgow. The Seaside town of Millport has a unique charm of traditional cafes and shops as well as a modern bistro. A haven for wildlife and wild flowers. Traditionally the holiday maker hires a bicycle and cycles the 11 miles around the island enjoying all the wonderful scenery. The island also boasts an 18 hole golf course. Accommodation overview: Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Stinchar Valley but a short distance from the idyllic rural village of Barr, this detached, newly renovated farm cottage is built to a very high standard for those seeking quality accommodation during their holiday break. From here you can enjoy walking and cycling in the Galloway Forest Park, or fishing in the River Stinchar (permit required). Culzean Castle and Country Park is 30 minutes drive away as are several places of interest on the Burns Heritage Trail. Turnberry Golf Course is world famous and there is also other courses to choose from. Village shop 3/4 mile, main shopping in the seaside towns of Girvan or Ayr, where there is a race course with regular popular race meetings in season.
