Fishguard town itself has many shops, cafes and pubs and restaurants, there is also a good leisure centre and swimming pool for those rainy days. Day ferries to Ireland are available from Goodwick harbour for an alternative day out. The Fishguard Folk Festival is held in the late Spring Bank holiday in May, Fishguard International Music Festival is held in July and Aberjazz is held in August, attracting many people every year. The sea skirts around the town with small harbours and beaches; regattas and sailing races are a weekly event during the summer months, and there are usually classes for enthusiastic amateurs of all ages.
The coastline here is stunning with rugged cliffs, hidden coves and fantastic walks along the award-winning Pembrokeshire Coast Path, a heaven for walker, bird watchers, wild life lovers and anyone with an appreciation of splendid coastal scenery. Guests can enjoy long walks, taking in the surrounding scenery, or simply stroll a few minutes to one of the lovely sitting areas overlooking the harbour and enjoy the peace and quiet as you watch the boats move out.
Nearby are a myriad of sights, attractions and experiences, with nuermous castles, nature reservces, gardens, quaint seaside towns and villages offering an endless list of water sports, pony trekking, theme parks and a vineyard.
The nearest beach 1.5 miles away at Goodwick. Or take a drive to Cwm yr Eglqys, 6.5 miles away - a picturesque cove located between Lower Toon and Newport. The beaches of Newgale and Whitesands are less than 30 minutes' drive and are renowned for surf and water activities.
Discover the historic city of St Davids, 14 miles away, featuring the magnificent 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of the Bishop's Palace, or for the more adventurous, take a sea safari expedition around the off shore island of Ramsey. Other attractions within 30 minutes' drive include the unique Castell Henllys Iron Fort and the wonderful Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, a fun day out for all the family.
