Long Cover is a detached cottage, rated Gold 4-star by the tourist board, in a very rural position in Fishpools, Kyre, near Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire.

This traditional 16th century timber frame house is surrounded by tranquil farmland and is situated half a mile from the nearest road. There are magnificent views in all directions over the Teme and Kyre valleys, ancient woodland and unspoilt farmland. It has a wealth of features including exposed beams, an old oak staircase, leaded light windows, an Aga and wood burning stove. The patio looks out over the Long Cover ancient woodland that is rich in wildlife. This raised and tranquil cottage has magnificent views across fields and farmland.

Guests will enjoy a private patio at the side which looks on to Fishpools and an ancient oak woodland. The cottage is in an ideal location for an outdoor break in Worcestershire.

Leading directly from the holiday cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridle ways where badgers, woodpeckers, buzzards and owls may be seen.

Places to visit in this part of Worcestershire include Tenbury Wells, an attractive riverside spa and market town in the Teme Valley (four miles away). The fine Georgian food town of Ludlow, renowned for its castle and restaurants, is a 25-minute drive away. Further attractions are Leominster, renowned for its antique shops, Hay-on-Wye, famed for its antiquarian book shops, the Ironbridge Museum at Telford, the Severn Valley Railway, West Midlands Safari Park and the Malvern Hills.

Great Catley Hop Kilns details

The Grade II listed Hop Kiln adjoins Great Catley in a stunning rural setting with wildlife, footpaths and cycle routes surrounding it and the Malvern Hills in the distance. The property, which dates back to the 16th century, was once a working hop and cider farm but now comprises luxurious living within a traditional stone and oak structure with many old features that were used at that time for hop making.

It is situated in the hamlet of Catley, a mile from the village of Bosbury and only 20 minutes from the M50. Two local pubs are within a mile and a half, the Bell at Bosbury and the Oak at Staplow. Both serve local ales, excellent food and take-outs. The area is a perfect retreat for exploring the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

The old town of Ledbury has its traditional black and white buildings but within them are a very eclectic range of independent shops and restaurants. Close by are Eastnor Castle, the Three Choirs Vineyard and Westons Cider Mill. The cities of Hereford and Worcester are an equidistant 15 miles. Both have beautiful cathedrals and riverside settings. Hereford has the famous Mappa Mundi and Worcester its cricket ground and racecourse.

The Malvern Hills are just 20 minutes away together with its spa town and theatre. Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye, Gloucester and Cheltenham are all less than an hour away with their own renowned festivals.
