Accommodation overview: One The Foundry, Visit Britain Four Stars, is an extremely high quality Forest of Dean holiday cottage. The cottage, which has a history dating back over 200 years, has been carefully and completely renovated by the owners creating a stunning holiday home set in a quiet corner of this truly magical part of England. Internally careful thought has been given to all details ensuring that guests have everything they could possibly want to make their stay a thoroughly enjoyable one. The rooms are spacious and are presented in a contemporary and refreshing fashion make the home thoroughly welcoming for all ages and absolutely ideal for families or groups looking to enjoy a unique holiday. Externally there is the absolutely unique location of overlooking the local steam railway which has the odd steam engine trundling up and down each week (Don't worry this is NOT used for anything else!!). Otherwise there are countless places to visit all nearby including a couple of pubs literally around the corner. The property, which dates back to circa 1800, has a rich history as one of the main warehouses servicing the busy railway that once ran through the village. Today the owners have beautifully modernised the building to create a gorgeous self catering property perfect for families or small groups alike. Internally considerable thought has gone into every detail with spacious rooms, contemporary touches and high quality materials evident throughout, including an oak kitchen and very comfortable beds. Externally, the cottage sits in the heart of the village (moments from Forest of Dean's woodlands) with two pubs nearby. The delightful heritage steam railway which still has periodic use through the summer, can be viewed from the courtyard!
