Visiting one of the many film locations and National Trust properties such as Montacue (Wolf Hall Sense & Sensability) Stourhead (Pride and Prejudice Emma) and Barrington Court (Wolf Hall) are a must and Longleat with its famous Safari Park is great fun for adults and children alike. For those who like a flutter Wincanton Racecourse is just 3 miles away or take the short drive to the south coast with sandy beaches such as Weymouth Lyme Regis Chesil Beach Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door being well worth a visit (all approximately 45 minutes drive). The cottages are both south facing and offer views over the surrounding garden with its small pond to the fields beyond. Early risers have often spotted local wildlife frequent visitors include deer foxes and swallows return every year in summer and the owner s own pets add to the country ambience. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with circular routes direct from the cottages.
