Accommodation overview: Sea View Cottage is a superb, very spacious single storey cottage which offers panoramic views of the coastal resort of Sandsend, from the garden and bedrooms. It has been furnished and equipped to a particularly high standard, to provide wonderful, relaxing accommodation. The property has a lovely, south facing, enclosed garden and private off road parking for three cars. Although situated in the grounds of the hotel, it has its own private garden and is not overlooked. Accommodation overview: Wren Cottage is located in the pretty village of Aislaby commanding an elevated position on the northern side of the Esk Valley in the North York Moors National Park with Whitby just three miles away. The cottage has been recently renovated and has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. It is an ideal cosy cottage for couples who like the outdoors, with some excellent pathways and cycle tracks very close by. A small enclosed courtyard at the rear of the property is perfect for relaxing and catching the afternoon sun. The coastal resorts of Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Robin Hoods Bay are all within easy reach and are all worth a visit. Whitby with its famous Fish and Chips, quaint gift shops and tearooms, cobbled streets and stunning Abbey is not to be missed. The North York Moors steam train can be boarded at Whitby on route to the market town of Pickering stopping at Grosmont and Goathland (alias Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat).

Accommodation overview: This Grade II Listed property has the perfect harbourside location- stunning sea views on all 3 floors to the rear, while the front door opens onto the High Street of this popular fishing village of Staithes. Ash Cottage is a delightful 200 year old fishermans cottage which has recently been restored. The lounge, completely renovated in 2010 now has exposed stonework and a cosy wood burning stove, and offers stunning sea views from the dining table. The first floor bedroom is spacious and with views of the sea, and a guest area on the second floor has a day bed and an additional TV/DVD (but with a steep staircase and no stairgate- young children please be careful!) The twin room is accessed via the guest area. Bench seating to the rear overlooking the sea is perfect to enjoy at anytime of day and the sandy beach is a mere 5 minute walk away, as are the pubs serving food, shops, cafes and Staithes Heritage Centre and Captain Cook Museum where you may learn about the life and voyages of this famous seaman who spent some of his childhood as an apprentice in Staithes.

Galatea (with accommodation for 5 guests) is one of two holiday cottages available at the lighthouse, which lies on the East Coast just outside Whitby and close to the North Yorkshire Moors.
The High Cliffs of the North Yorkshire coast hide a number of small ports, the most significant of which is Whitby. Captain James Cook was apprenticed to a Whitby shipowner and made the first of his voyages of discovery (1768-1771) in a covered Whitby built 'cat' - a small ship rigged collier renamed 'Endeavour'. Whitby's skyline is dominated by the ruins of St. Hilda's Abbey, high on Whitby's East Cliff and spreading below, a maze of alleyways and narrow streets running down to the busy quayside and harbour entrance. To the south lie the coastal villages and resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. Inland lie the heather moorlands of the North Yorkshire Moors and, further afield, York.
Access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
