All cottages are within easy walking distance of footpaths leading to the castle and the stunning 500 acre grounds. Dating back over 900 years Leeds Castle set on two islands on the River Len once a Norman stronghold owned by six medieval queens and used by Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Latterly owned by Lady Baillie the last private owner of the castle who restored the castle to its current splendour. It became a weekend playground for the rich and famous London s high society . Leisure facilities: guests have use of the leisure facilities at the neighbouring Mecure Hotel including a swimming pool. All guests staying in the cottages will be able to access the castle and grounds subject to availability for their entire stay including Knights Realm adventure playground somewhere for the children to run and play. The yew tree maze with its underworld grotto of shells and mythical beasts. Climb Maidens Tower and enjoy the falconry displays. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen towels electric central heating and Wi-Fi included. The cottages all have gardens/decked areas with garden furniture and BBQs. Regret no smoking. Regret no pets.
