Accommodation overview: Ellerslie Cottage is an annexe to imposing Ellerslie House that sits in spectacular parkland grounds, incorporating a swimming pool, tennis court, playground, a maze, an orchard and sweeping lawns down to a lake. Four friendly Alpacas live by the lake too - firm favourites with everyone! It is situated mid-way between Cranbrook and Hawkhurst - Cranbrook has some superb specialist shops, pubs and restaurants and Hawkhurst has a great independent cinema, so there is much to enjoy right on your doorstep. The nearby gardens at Sissinghurst and Pashley Manor are well worth a visit and the seaside is an easy drive. Trains for London (1hr) from Staplehurst 8 miles. The main farmhouse is a traditional 15th Century thatched timber framed holiday retreat accommodating 7 guests along with 2 other characterful properties: Stable Cottage with accommodation for 6 guests and The Barn with accommodation for 5 guests which also contains the leisure complex.
The holiday rental is situated in the midst of the charming village of Milstead in Kent, nestled between the Church of St Mary and the Holy Cross, the Manor House and the village cricket green. There is plenty to see and do in this part of Kent. The holiday retreat is only three miles from the town of Sittingbourne, Faversham is close by and a little further takes you to the popular coastal town of Whitstable and the cathedral city of Canterbury. This area of the North Downs which is classified as one of the UK's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty is also known as the Garden of England.
