The Faulds is situated in the village of Thornthwaite looking out over the valley between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite to the mighty Skiddaw. There is direct access to forest trails for walking and mountain biking and a high wire forest adventure course. Sailing is permitted on Bassenthwaite, 1 mile and kayaks, canoes and sailing boats available at the marinas on Derwentwater, 2 miles. There are pubs and a village shop in Braithwaite, 1 mile and a wealth of amenities in Keswick, 3 miles readily accessed by public transport (bus).
