Accommodation overview: Set in the heart of Beatrix Potter Country, the villages of Hawkshead and Satterthwaite must be two of the prettiest in the whole of the Lake District. The Elizabethan cobbled streets of Hawkshead, lined with whitewashed cottages and courtyards is mainly pedestrianised and so offers a pleasant amble around the church and the old Grammar school where Wordsworth carved his name on a desk.
