Accommodation overview: High Cunsey Cottage was the former cow shed, yes cow shed, to High Cunsey Farm, a traditional Westmorland farmhouse in a delightful, quiet area of the Lakes. Beatrix Potter loved this part of Lakeland, the sheer beauty and tranquility that so greatly inspired her remains unchanged to this day. High Cunsey nestles on the shores of Lake Windermere, the farmhouse and cottage sharing their own rather special piece of Lake frontage and shoreline. A variety of walks can be enjoyed from the door, a mile or so to the nearest watering hole, with Grizedale Forest and the Go Ape experience only a short distance from Cunsey, by foot, bike or car. Alternatively, a trip on the car ferry across Lake Windermere will bring you to the busier resort of Bowness, excellent for shopping with a variety of specialist shops, bars and restaurants.

Accommodation overview: Bluebird Cottage sits proudly above Coniston Village and enjoys superb views of the Lake and surrounding fell ranges, sufficient to tempt the most novice of walkers. The village has a good number of amenities for the self caterer although all the local pubs offer bar food during the day and into the evening. Bluebird Cottage was a former quarry workers cottage and has recently undergone a major refurbishment throughout to create an open plan layout, beautifully furnished with stylish new kitchen, bathroom and living space. The two parking spaces to the side of the cottage are a huge advantage and the sitting out area to the front, with lake views, is sure to be well utilised when our typical Lakeland weather will allow!

Accommodation overview: A mere 2 miles from Coniston, Torver is a peaceful hamlet with east access to some of the best mountain bike routes, water borne activities and walking in the National Park. Low level walks toward Walna Scar and in to the village itself are ideal for first time visitors and, for the more experienced, Coniston Old Man must not be missed. Torver has two excellent hostelries offering speciality ales and excellent food, Wilsons Arms and The Church House, with further good pubs and everyday shops in nearby Coniston.
