It is situated only 2 minutes walk from the town centre, at the end of a residential cul-de-sac. The site was previously the home to one of the oldest breweries in the North, until its closure in the early 1900s. Beck House was the brewery warehouse, built in the 18th century and converted in 2010 utilising much of the original sandstone and reclaimed timber to retain the character, but furnished and equipped with the finest quality furnishings and fittings. Penrith is well provided with amenities, including pubs, restaurants and shops and is easily accessible by car, coach or rail. The Village Bakery in Melmerby has an excellent reputation and is sought out by visitors from far and wide, there is also a pub which serves bar meals. Melmerby is a peaceful village which lies on the edge of the Pennine Hills and has wonderful walks on the surrounding fells and country roads which are ideal for cycling.
