Meadowbank Lodge is an 18th Century former Granary in the Lakeland village of Staveley that has been converted into a traditional looking holiday cottage. Able to sleep four people in one twin and one double bedroom, the cottage also boasts a family bathroom and an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, a dining room and a sitting area with a solid fuel stove. Outside the cottage is a small garden with furniture, a covered deck area, bike storage and off road parking for one car. Exuding "olde worlde" charm and being centrally located in the village, Meadowbank Lodge is a fabulous holiday cottage in a beautiful location.

Accommodation overview: Burrow Cottage, part of the former Burrow Hall dates back to the 18th century and is midway between the medieval town of Kendal (3 miles) and the popular resorts of Windermere and Bowness (6 miles). The location, just off the A591 is ideal for touring both the Lake and Dales. Staveley is a mile away and has a great selection of traditional pubs, most serving homemade food and local ales. Of course, your pet is also most welcome here at Burrow Cottage and plenty of opportunities for lovely long walks are on hand and for those anglers among you, Ratherheath Tarn, well stocked with carp, perch and bream is very close by.

Accommodation overview: Just beyond the village and on the site of a former farm, Croftside Cottage enjoys a fairly rural location but is only a few minutes stroll from Staveley. The village has everything for the self catering holiday; local Spar shop, Butcher, Fish and Chip Shop as well as some excellent pubs, The Eagle and Child serving award winning food. The cottage is just off the Crook Road with Dales Way Footpath passing right alongside the property, or why not hire a bike from Wheelbase in Staveley and venture on two wheels instead. Careful planning has ensured that best advantage has been made of the conventional church windows, creating a light and airy feel. Superb walks can be explored from the door and with a wealth of traditional inns, local butchers and post office only a few hundred yards from the cottage, the village is an ideal base for those not wishing to be too dependant on the car.

Staveley offers some excellent walking for all abilities, along to Ings or up into Kentmere Valley - the opportunities are endless. An excellent selection of traditional pubs are on hand, all serving excellent bar meals and local ales and do pay a visit to the Mill Yard, home to Wilfs Cafe, Hawkeshead Brewery and Organico, importers of organic wine from Italy and the Meditteranean.
