Accommodation overview: Charlie's Cottage is a wonderful mix of old and new and if you are looking for the quintessenital English Country Cottage you need look no further. This lovely, cosy thatched cottage, which dates back to the Civil War era of the 1650s', has so much charm inside that we simply fell in love with it when we inspected it. Situated in a very quiet location within one of the northern Cotswolds most beautiful villages - Epwell, the cottage enjoys real tranquility and yet great access to the surrounding countryside. The village pub is sure to be a real appeal to those who enjoy the idea of a 'local pint', while the adventure playground is a firm favourite with the children. Internally the owners have mixed old features with new style with imagination to create a very cosy and welcoming holiday cottage that oozes charm and appeal. Collectively the cottage has so much to offer that we see it appealing to both families as much as it will to the 'weekend breakers'. Situated in the original Wychwood Forest - a Royal hunting ground - The Den is in a truly tranquil setting, amongst fields and woods, and yet close to Woodstock and the famous Blenheim Palace as well as Oxford. The property is well cared for by the owners and is an ideal 'bolt-hole' to relax peacefully. There are many excellent walks all around and yet you are conveniently located for a wide selection of Cotswolds locations. The local pub, The Royal Oak at Ramsden which was voted the Good Pub Guide's Country Pub of the Year 2011, is just a mile away - a delightful stroll through the woods and fields. We as well as everyone else highly recommend this pub! ACCOMMODATION: (all on one level )French windows lead into the Sitting / Dining / Kitchen area.
