Accommodation overview: Poppy Cottage is a lovely, recently refurbished cottage, that was once part of an old school. The cottage, set within a beautiful pocket of the Cotswolds, has spacious, welcoming accommodation. Internally, the property offers high quality, characterful features including high ceilings and exposed walls to make the cottage unique. Outside there is a secluded sitting area. Locally, there is The Wychwood Golf Club, which has a Freehouse serving good food all day to both players and non-players.(*below.) Outside, there are lovely views across the countryside and village and a secluded sitting area. A truly wonderful part of the Cotswolds! (NB. Described as 'a well groomed course that challenges the best golfers.... it has a lovely clubhouse with breathtaking views of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.' We say it's well worth a visit! (01993 831 841 closes at dusk in Winter months.) The popular towns of Stratford upon Avon and Oxford are also within easy driving distance. Accommodation overview: The Haven is a super single storey holiday cottage which has undergone renovation to create a welcoming property suitable for families wishing to enjoy a relaxing break. Originally part of a 14th Century farm, the cottage, which is semi detached, is light and spacious with far reaching views across the Cotswold countryside. Set within the conservation village of Shipton under Wychwood, there are great walks and country pubs, such as The Lamb close by. The property retains original beams and stone walls, and now has beech floors throughout along with mod cons such as a power shower, dishwasher and TV. Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful 300-year-old Cotswold stone cottage nestled in the the quiet, unspoilt village of Windrush. Surrounded by National Trust land, there are numerous walks in the stunning Windrush valley leading to water meadows and idyllic villages. Wildlife and birds are abundant and you will often see foxes, badgers, hares, deer and many beautiful species of birds and wildflowers. It is a perfect cottage to relax by the fire and unwind.
If you desire to find culture and shopping, Oxford and Cheltenham are approximately 20 miles away. The famous and historic market town of Burford is four miles west of Windrush and hosts an abundance of interesting shops and boutiques as well as some excellent pubs and restaurants. It also can be accessed by a four mile cycle trail along the Windrush valley.
The historic Fox Inn is situated on the river and is a 20-minute stroll across the fields where you can enjoy excellent food. The Inn for All Seasons is a 20-minute walk across fields and serves outstanding food and wines. The National Trust village of Sherborne is a two mile ramble along the valley. The outstanding Sherborne Village Shop and Tearooms serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and delicious homemade cakes. The deli is exceptional and you can find an amazing selection of goodies for your larder. Bibury, Coln St Aldwyns, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within the local area. Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon are within an hour's drive.

Obviously, many of the Cotswodls favourite locations such as Burford and Stow on the Wold nearby too. Originally this building is where military bands used to practice (approx 100 years ago!) but today it is a lovely home with many period and contemporary touches such as underfloor heating.
