The Daylesford Farmstore is about 50 yards away with an endless amount of high quality foods, you can even book yourself on a 'Learn to Farm' or a 'Learn to Cook' course!! Situated between Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton and Burford, this is true Cotswolds Country. it is an unspoilt village with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley in Oxfordshire, England and is a short drive from the more well known town of Chipping Norton. It is a thriving village with a good sense of community. As well as the pubs there is a good village store and an attractive church. The village is unique amongst Cotswold villages, because it is served by a main line railway station about a mile from the village, the mainline railway station provides regular services to London with services operated by First Great Western Link. Of particular note is the The Kingham Plough which is a quintessential Cotswold Inn and has an outstanding restaurant. According to AA Gill: "The kitchen is a serious restaurant workplace. The bar menu is as fine as any I've seen...anyone thinking of opening a local pub restaurant should come here and see the gold standard." (AA Gill writing in the Sunday Times). Otherwise nearby are Stow on the Wold and Burford, with Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Bath all within a reasonable drive

Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful 300-year-old Cotswold stone cottage nestled in the the quiet, unspoilt village of Windrush. Surrounded by National Trust land, there are numerous walks in the stunning Windrush valley leading to water meadows and idyllic villages. Wildlife and birds are abundant and you will often see foxes, badgers, hares, deer and many beautiful species of birds and wildflowers. It is a perfect cottage to relax by the fire and unwind.
If you desire to find culture and shopping, Oxford and Cheltenham are approximately 20 miles away. The famous and historic market town of Burford is four miles west of Windrush and hosts an abundance of interesting shops and boutiques as well as some excellent pubs and restaurants. It also can be accessed by a four mile cycle trail along the Windrush valley.
The historic Fox Inn is situated on the river and is a 20-minute stroll across the fields where you can enjoy excellent food. The Inn for All Seasons is a 20-minute walk across fields and serves outstanding food and wines. The National Trust village of Sherborne is a two mile ramble along the valley. The outstanding Sherborne Village Shop and Tearooms serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and delicious homemade cakes. The deli is exceptional and you can find an amazing selection of goodies for your larder. Bibury, Coln St Aldwyns, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within the local area. Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon are within an hour's drive.

Local InformationSomerton is delightful village steeped in history dating back hundreds of years with mentions in the Domesday Book and also links to William The Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings. The church in particular (a Grade One listed building) is relatively famous in local circles for its historical significance. Somerton is no more than 15 mins outside Woodstock, the very popular Oxfordshire market town and just 15 miles from the centre of Oxford. The village also enjoys superb travel links with Bicester train station (to London Marylebone) 10 mins drive away or Junction 10 of the M40 no more than 3 miles away. The village sits on the northern side of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with the River Cherwell and Oxford Canal both meandering through the edge of the village and just moments from this holiday cottage. The meadows at the river are absolutely perfect for evening 'sun-downers'. There are many walks to choose from, right from your door. The very famous and very popular Bicester Shopping Outlet Centre (or Bicester Village as it is called) is 10 mins away if shopping is your thing. There are a variety of good pubs in the locality, but none in the village. Of particular note is The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, one of the prettiest spots imaginable.

Located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford, and right next to the famous 14th/15th Century church (described as the finest in Oxfordshire) this classic Cotswold cottage has everything to make your holiday truly enjoyable.
