Accommodation overview: The Bakehouse is a quaint holiday cottage located in the centre of the village of Aston, a lovely spot set in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The cottage, once the local bakery, has been well restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation in a peaceful environment. Internally the cottage retains the character of the original building mixed with furnishings of a traditional style. Of particular appeal is the large garden and courtyard with ornamental pond and built in barbecue to the side and rear of the property. The cottage is located close to Oxford, Burford and the Cotswolds plus other locations such as Woodstock and a multitude of other local attractions, The Bakehouse is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area. The property, which is attached to the owner's fabulous home, sits in a wonderful location, surrounded by completely unspoilt countryside and the large grounds of the farm (not working!) Internally, the cottage is furnished with some lovely antiques which give a lovely warm and welcoming feel when you walk in. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and ideal for relaxing and recharging the batteries! The property is well placed for walking, but for the more adventurous, there are a host of attractions to choose from including Blenheim Palace at Woodstock (10 miles), Oxford, (20 miles), Warwick Castle (20 miles) Stratford upon Avon (20 miles) and many other locations within the Cotswolds. This is an excellent location to choose as your holiday cottage.

The Old Bakery is a converted, period, beamed detached stone property that lies near the green in the village of Kingham. Kingham is an attractive village, situated within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, built predominantly of Cotswold stone with some elegant tiled and thatch roofed cottages.
The village previously won the prestigious title of "England's Favourite Village" as featured in Country Life magazine and was named the best village in England by the Telegraph in 2010.
Within easy walking distance are the well-stocked village shop and post office, and the village's two highly recommended local pubs, the Kingham Plough, and the Wild Rabbit. The award winning Daylesford Farm Shop is within one mile of the village.
One mile outside the village there is a mainline railway station with direct trains to Oxford and London. The pretty Cotswold villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Norton and Moreton-in-Marsh are all within a 10-minute drive.
