With one double and one twin bedroom, this cottage can sleep four people in comfort. It also has a family bathroom and an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is a small cottage garden with furniture and there is a free car park across the main road. The village of Clanfield (famous for its use in the filming of Downton Abbey!) is an attractive one, with the notable benefit of two very good pubs - both within a very short distance of the holiday property. Archway Cottage is a delightful cottage which was once part of an old brewery in Milton-under-Wychwood, a delightful Cotswold village. The property was completely renovated a few years ago and is furnished in a contemporary style with an emphasis on modern comfort.
The village has a post office and a small supermarket. It is located a mile from Shipton-under-Wychwood (which has three pubs, the Lamb, the Wychwood Inn and the Shaven Crown.) Also within a 15-minute drive are the top local pubs/restaurants, such as the Feathered Nest in Westcote, the Chequers in Churchill, the Toll House and the Plough can be found in Kingham, which also has the award-winning Daylesford Organic Farm shop and a mainline station to London Paddington.
There are three lovely market towns within 10 miles - Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. A little further afield are Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. Many delightful country house gardens are in the neighbourhood and also many wonderful walks in all directions.

Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful 300-year-old Cotswold stone cottage nestled in the the quiet, unspoilt village of Windrush. Surrounded by National Trust land, there are numerous walks in the stunning Windrush valley leading to water meadows and idyllic villages. Wildlife and birds are abundant and you will often see foxes, badgers, hares, deer and many beautiful species of birds and wildflowers. It is a perfect cottage to relax by the fire and unwind.
If you desire to find culture and shopping, Oxford and Cheltenham are approximately 20 miles away. The famous and historic market town of Burford is four miles west of Windrush and hosts an abundance of interesting shops and boutiques as well as some excellent pubs and restaurants. It also can be accessed by a four mile cycle trail along the Windrush valley.
The historic Fox Inn is situated on the river and is a 20-minute stroll across the fields where you can enjoy excellent food. The Inn for All Seasons is a 20-minute walk across fields and serves outstanding food and wines. The National Trust village of Sherborne is a two mile ramble along the valley. The outstanding Sherborne Village Shop and Tearooms serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and delicious homemade cakes. The deli is exceptional and you can find an amazing selection of goodies for your larder. Bibury, Coln St Aldwyns, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within the local area. Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon are within an hour's drive.
