Accommodation overview: The Bakehouse is a quaint holiday cottage located in the centre of the village of Aston, a lovely spot set in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The cottage, once the local bakery, has been well restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation in a peaceful environment. Internally the cottage retains the character of the original building mixed with furnishings of a traditional style. Of particular appeal is the large garden and courtyard with ornamental pond and built in barbecue to the side and rear of the property. The cottage is located close to Oxford, Burford and the Cotswolds plus other locations such as Woodstock and a multitude of other local attractions, The Bakehouse is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area. In our opinion this is a basic holiday cottage that provides superb value for money! Accommodation overview: Landgate Cottage is a well located holiday cottage situated moments from the Market Square in Stow. The cottage is a very good size for four people, but has the advantage of an extra bed if a fifth person wishes to travel*. The living room is particularly attractive with great views across the well tended (but of course!) allotments and fields beyond. The cottage also has two bathrooms which also make it suitable for two couples just as much for a family. The holiday cottage, which dates from circa 18th Century, is situated on the main high street within Stow making it literally seconds from shops, restaurants and similar. Internally the cottage, which is hundreds of years old, has been renovated to provide a very comfortable holiday home filled with tradition and character as well as all the important mod cons one would need to make a cottage relaxing. Accommodation overview: The Coach House is a classic Cotswold property in so many ways. A converted barn (formerly the Coach House to the Vicarage as you'd expect!) it contains many attractive features that give it that traditional and welcoming feel. The huge, spacious living room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, cream washed walls, oak flooring and open fire set the scene perfectly, with the idyllic view towards the village church simply gorgeous. The barn is set in the grounds of one of the finest houses in this village, and within one of the most 'sort-after' Cotswolds villages - Swinbrook. Within walking distance is the popular and highly regarded pub - The Swan. There are many walks from your front door, including one along the Windrush Valley to Burford. This is excellent location and excellent cottage ideal for two or even four with the extra beds available. Accommodation overview: The Stables at Edgerly Farm is a very sweet and cosy holiday property set in an extremely peaceful location within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The farm is located at the end of a long drive and is the set of buildings for miles, with only fields surrounding. The property has been converted from part of the stables and provides very comfortable accommodation for two people. The accommodation, which is upstairs, is mainly open plan with a separate bedroom/ensuite and has all the modern facilities to make your self cateing holiday a very relaxing one. Our visit was only interrupted by the sound of tweeting birds, swallows and the odd horse, so a rural retreat this most certainly is. Superb value and perfect for getting away from life's 'hustle and bustle. Village pub in Clanfield is approx 1mile level walk.ACCOMMODATION. (Entrance is up approx 11 steps)Entrance through to open living space with lovely views across the farm and countryside. The cottage, set within a beautiful pocket of the Cotswolds, has spacious, welcoming accommodation. Internally, the property offers high quality, characterful features including high ceilings and exposed walls to make the cottage unique. Outside there is a secluded sitting area. Locally, there is The Wychwood Golf Club, which has a Freehouse serving good food all day to both players and non-players.(*below.) Outside, there are lovely views across the countryside and village and a secluded sitting area. A truly wonderful part of the Cotswolds! (NB. Described as 'a well groomed course that challenges the best golfers.... it has a lovely clubhouse with breathtaking views of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.' We say it's well worth a visit! (01993 831 841 closes at dusk in Winter months.) The popular towns of Stratford upon Avon and Oxford are also within easy driving distance. (Kingham station is approx. 2 miles away, with trains to Oxford, London, Hereford and Worcester.)
