Accommodation overview: The Hayloft is a superb barn conversion located on the edge of the very quiet hamlet of Lyneham. As the name suggests the barn was once the hayloft of this farm, but today has been converted to provide spacious accommodation for up to seven people. Internally the cottage has been renovated to a very high standard creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere which is ideal for families and small groups. As one would expect, the cottage retains many character features including exposed walls and beams! Located on a small and quiet lane, this holiday cottage, in our opinion, is an ideal family destination. It has a large rooftop terrace which can be a very enjoyable spot to watch the world go by. Centrally situated, the hamlet is about 7 miles from Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water. Trains for London/Paddington from nearby Kingham.

The property, which is Seventeenth Century and Grade II listed, has a history that describes it as once belonging to the 'Village Alehouse Keeper'! Today it is has a very welcoming feel with many period features including a large and beautiful inglenook fireplace which is simply gorgeous and oak beams - all very romantic! The cottage is well equipped and also enjoys a very large garden overlooking fields beyond. Even though the property is ideal for two people, there is a second bedroom with a potential two extra beds* which would be suitable for one or two children - there is plenty of seating downstairs. Originally part of a 14th Century farm, the cottage, which is semi detached, is light and spacious with far reaching views across the Cotswold countryside. Set within the conservation village of Shipton under Wychwood, there are great walks and country pubs, such as The Lamb close by. The property retains original beams and stone walls, and now has beech floors throughout along with mod cons such as a power shower, dishwasher and TV.
