Literally cosy by name and cosy by nature this little cottage is a perfect hideaway for two people looking to come to the Cotswolds for a traditional experience. The cottage is located down a little, no through lane with typical Cotswolds properties to see. Further down the lane is the Chipping Norton church and a small pathway into the town. Internally the cottage is presented in a simple and basic standard; clean and very functional and just ideal for a couple looking a good value getaway, and this is reflected in the attractive price for such a great location. The cottage is fully equipped and also enjoys a spacious feel for two people. The town itself boast a vast array of shops, antique shops plus restaurants, cafes and country pubs. In addition there is a very popular theatre which hosts a wide variety of touring productions. Within a short drive are a selection of Cotswolds attractions, including The Rollright Stones, Chastelton House, Rousham Hall and Blenheim Palace. Obviously, many of the Cotswodls favourite locations such as Burford and Stow on the Wold nearby too. Slightly further afield, are Oxford and Stratford upon Avon, both comfortably within half an hour drive!

Accommodation overview: The Stables at Edgerly Farm is a very sweet and cosy holiday property set in an extremely peaceful location within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The farm is located at the end of a long drive and is the set of buildings for miles, with only fields surrounding. The property has been converted from part of the stables and provides very comfortable accommodation for two people. The accommodation, which is upstairs, is mainly open plan with a separate bedroom/ensuite and has all the modern facilities to make your self cateing holiday a very relaxing one. Our visit was only interrupted by the sound of tweeting birds, swallows and the odd horse, so a rural retreat this most certainly is. Superb value and perfect for getting away from life's 'hustle and bustle. Village pub in Clanfield is approx 1mile level walk.ACCOMMODATION. The internal features include exposed timbers throughout, together with a woodburner in the dining room. All the rooms are spacious and comfortable, with some low ceilings!! There is a charming and secluded garden at the rear of the cottage, a perfect 'sun trap' for summer days! Footstool Cottage is a cosy retreat situated in the village of Fulbrook which lies about half a mile to the north east of the bustling market town of Burford. The village is surrounded by open Cotswold countryside and there is a good pub within easy walking distance. There is a public footpath from the cottage into Burford. The village of Clanfield (famous for its use in the filming of Downton Abbey!) is an attractive one, with the notable benefit of two very good pubs - both within a very short distance of the holiday property.
