Accommodation overview: Beautifully situated at the foot of the Fairlie Moors in a rural location, this 18th Century mill and farmhouse has been tastefully converted into a delightful holiday home. The old mill stream still runs alongside and to the rear is a patio and terrace area with garden furniture, leading down to a burn and paddock (care required with young children). The house is spacious, exceptionally well-appointed with comfortable furnishings and lots of tasteful finishing touches to provide a welcoming atmosphere.
This is an excellent base for a family holiday in the heart of Ayrshire, 10 mins from the coast. Sailing and golf are popular pursuits and day cruises can be enjoyed to Arran, Bute and Millport. There are safe sandy beaches and many fine gardens and places of historical interest to explore. The coastal resort towns of Largs and Ayr are within easy reach. Shops, pub/hotel 2 miles.

Accommodation overview: The lovely cottage is a former coach house and laundry to the adjoining 18 century Dunragit House and estate. At one time the house belonged to John Charles Cuninghame, 17th Laird of Craigends in Renfrewshire and in 1919 the estate came up for sale and the following is an extract from the London Times, December 6, 1919 ... the sporting, residential and agricultural estate of Dunragit, in the county of Wigtown, extending to an area of about 7438 acres, and including DUNRAGIT HOUSE and policies, Factors house, estate cottages, 20 valuable farms, capital grouse and salmon and sea trout fishing in the river Luce for a distance of 41 miles. DUNRAGIT HOUSE, situated in well timbered policies, over-drawing room. library, billiard room, 12 principal bed and dressing rooms, 11 servants bed rooms, four bathrooms, with attics and ample domestic offices. The name Dunragit, means the fort of Rheged one of the ancient kingdoms of Britain and the area is steeped in history from standing stones to ancient fortresses and strongholds.

Accommodation overview: Situated in the picturesque fishing port of Port William, this lovely light and spacious property dates back to 1872 and was home to the school master and as such has some lovely features as befits a learned gentleman. Some of the rooms afford sea views across the rooftops of this pretty little seaside village. The picturesque harbour dates from the latter years of the eighteenth century and is a haven for both working and pleasure craft. The area has a great wealth of history including tales of smuggling to as far back as early Christian times. This area is renowned for its varied and unspoilt scenery which is pleasantly caressed by the Gulf Stream. There is mile after mile of sleepy backwaters which makes for an ideal saunter for cyclists; however lets not forget those adrenalin seeking cyclists who have a choice of the World renowned 7Stanes venues. Accommodation overview: These four holiday cottages are on a 200 acre working farm and enjoy panoramic views over the sea to the Antrim mountains, Ailsa Craig and the Mull of Kintyre. This is a beautiful part of the coastline, just 1/2 mile from the ancient fishing village of Ballantrae. Girvan, a popular seaside town is 15 mins. drive. The farm includes 1 1/2 miles of beach, accessed by a short footpath from the main road below the cottages. The area offers fishing, golf at several excellent courses, sailing and horse-racing at Ayr. Shops and pub 1/2 mile, plus excellent local restaurants.
In an elevated position adjacent to farm buildings, 300 metres from the main road, each of the first 3 cottages have wondeful views to the sea.
The bright sunny rooms are simply furnished in homely style, ideal for a relaxed family holiday. We recommend a maximum of 4 adults.

There is pleasant walking on the estate the gamekeeper can arrange fishing (extra charge) whilst a nature reserve lies at the river mouth just south of Ballantrae (4 miles) and the Galloway Forest Park offers superb cycle trails. Ancient castles and churches dot a landscape steeped in history – Culzean is well worth a visit. Golf at Royal Troon or Turnberry is a short drive and a village shop and hotel/bar are 1½ miles.
