It is located in a convenient spot on the edge of a picturesque village and provides an ideal base from which to explore the area. The village of Moorlinch has an attractive family pub serving food a short stroll from the property. You will be a short drive from the RSPB Nature Reserve and site of Special Scientific Interest on the Somerset Levels ideal for keen bird watchers and nature lovers alike. There is much to see and do in this beautiful county: Glastonbury with its Tor and Abbey Clarks retail village in Street Cheddar Gorge and the cathedral city of Wells. There are many National Trust properties in the locality or enjoy a walk over the Quantock Hills all within a one hour drive. A little further out lies the historic city of Bath and Exmoor National Park. There are several sandy and dramatic beaches to the north and south such as Lyme Regis Sidmouth and Burnham-on-Sea. The accommodation is arranged over the ground floor and offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size with en-suite wet room and 1 twin room. Shower room: with WC. Situated in a prime position just a five minute stroll from the sought after medieval village of Dunster. One of three properties that occupy this magnificent building which was originally built as a police station in 1858. It has many original features from gothic-styled windows attractive fireplaces and its own tower that houses one of the single beds. Combine this with the quirky layout this property makes an extremely special retreat. Dunster village has been built around its own medieval castle with cobbled streets and a bustling high street which is full of art galleries traditional sweet shops tea rooms and a wide selection of good places to eat from family pubs to candle-lit restaurants. Minehead s seafront with its shops pubs restaurants indoor pool harbour fishing coastal boat trips and Somerset World is just a 30 minute walk or two minutes by car. Accommodation overview: Clematis Cottage, Freshford nr Bath is a quaint yet basic holiday cottage priced sensitively to reflect the standard. The cottage has a long history dating back over 200 years and is situated in a beautiful and peaceful village just 5 miles from the World Heritage City of Bath. Internally, is presented in a traditional fashion the open plan kitchen dining area particularly appealing, the accommodation is split over three floors. The cottage is situated at the top of a lane and has lovely views across the Freshford Valley and the village itself, where there is a local pub and shop. As you would expect, the location makes it ideal for walks but it is also excellent for access to Bath which is only 10 mins drive away (or if you want to forget the car compltetly, 30 minutes by bus, which stops outside the front door, or 7 minutes by train!) In our opinion this cottage is a good choice for a family or group looking to travel to Bath, the Southern Cotswolds and many other surrounding attractions and to do so at a very affordable price. Children of all ages welcomed.
