Accommodation overview: Hidden high in the Perthshire Hills overlooking the strath towards Gleneagles, this fantastic holiday home was sustainably built on the ruins of an old steading in 2009. It offers comforts of modern living with a feel of the elegance of a bygone era. With indoor games room, outdoor hot tub with views towards the Sidlaw Hills, covered courtyard swimming pool, croquet lawn, trampoline, swings, slides and football pitch, there is plenty to keep everyone of all ages happy. The house has been stunningly interior-designed throughout, using some of the most sumptuous fabrics available. From the back door there is wonderful hill walking directly onto the heather hill. Perthshire is home to some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery, ranging from the domestic farmlands of Strathtay, the Highlands behind Crieff and Aberfeldy, to the ancient granite ochils on which Alexander House sits. Horse riding, falconry, shooting school, restaurants, quad biking, fishing and clay pigeon shooting are available nearby and there are 40 golf courses in the area. Scotland’s smallest distillery (Edradour in Pitlochry) is an hour away and its oldest (Glenturret at Crieff), is only 20 minutes away. Visit Blair Castle, Castle Menzies at Aberfeldy, the magnificent Scone Palace and Stirling Castle. Edinburgh is 1 hour. Shops 3 miles.
