In its heyday St Andrews Cathedral was a centre of pilgrimage and the largest church in Scotland. You can also visit the British Golf Museum, which is handily situated not far from 18th green of the Old Course.
For something a little different, the East Neuk is a string of fishing villages for which the word picturesque might have been invented.
