The village nestles between the Gargunnock and the Fintry hills. There are lovely views from the village across the Forth Valley and several local walks. More challenging hill walks can be found around Fintry and Loch Lomond; the loch’s eastern shore is only 16 miles. Accommodation overview: Cardy Net House was built in 1867 by D. Gillies, a direct descendant of Alexander Selkirk (Robinson Crusoe) who was born in Lower Largo. This former net factory supplied fishing nets for the herring industry and was skilfully renovated by the architect owners to offer an exceptional and unique holiday home which has featured on television. The impressive interior has a vast open plan living area, one wall is entirely glazed with triple patio doors opening onto a sun terrace overlooking the beach and enjoying magnificent uninterrupted views across the sea and East coastline. The room is very bright as the vaulted ceiling is mainly glazed with beams, and there is simulated flagstone flooring - the relaxing lounge area is centred around an open fire with a piano for entertainment and the luxurious kitchen offers the ultimate in stylish design. The contemporary interior is further enhanced with sophisticated lighting - this contrasts beautifully with the vibrantly decorated bedrooms which have a cosy and traditional ambience. All the bathrooms have beautiful free standing Victorian baths and fittings. Visitors have shared use of the extended private gardens to the side of the house - these large walled gardens are beautifully landscaped and back onto the lane which runs along the top of the beach. The gardens are safely enclosed for children and there is garden furniture, barbecue, trampoline and swingball. The quaint little village of Lower Largo boasts miles of sandy beach, a nice pub/ hotel serving meals and a shop/PO. Situated on the picturesque East Neuk coastline, there are plenty of opportunities here for sea fishing, sailing and watersports. Enjoy coastal walks or golf on a variety of excellent courses.

The cottage occupies a wonderful position with a private garden overlooking open farmland, the delightful River Earn and the Moncrieffe Hills.  The property has been newly re-furbished and is extremely well presented. The property has a bright and airy open plan layout with the main oak wood floor living space on the ground floor and a carpeted gallery bedroom accessed via a spiral staircase. The light-filled gallery bedroom is a joy but it does come with fully fitted black-out blinds to prevent the early morning sun spoiling that all important holiday lie-in!   The lounge has two comfy leather sofas, a flat screen TV, an electric stove effect fire and large sliding patio doors leading out to a decked area affording open views of the surrounding countryside.
