Accommodation overview: Granary Cottage, Blackwell is a Four Star rated self catering cottage set in the heart of the Northern Cotswolds, and a convenient distance from Chipping Campden and also Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon. This lovely holiday cottage is set within the peaceful grounds of the owners home and is surrounded by some fine rolling Cotswolds' countryside. As one would expect from such a location it is ideal for walks, but it is equally perfect for enjoying many classic Cotswold spots including some National Trust gardens and ever popular market towns such as Stow on the Wold. Internally the cottage is presented in immaculate condition with good thought given to the period property whilst providing many modern facilities throughout that will give customers, in our opinion, a delightful experience and at excellent price. Added to this is access to a paddock AND a super games room with 'pub style' pool table!! Even though we saw this cottage on a damp day, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are quite certain that you will too.ACCOMMODATIONEntrance through to hallway with boot storage and hanging space with cloakroomKitchen is a contemporary and a good size. LocationThe Granary is in the village of Blackwell, situated in the north of the Cotswolds with easy access to walks in every direction and we are located directly on the Centenary Way walk. With views to Cotswold Hills at Ilmington, it is in an area of outstanding beauty, yet within reach of local amenities. The village of Armscote is about 15 minutes walk away and has a wonderful local pub, The Fox & Goose, with open fires and great food. Stratford-upon-Avon is eight miles away and there are several National Trust properties within a few miles. Shipston-on-Stour, a delightful market town with a wide range of independent shops, and Ilmington, a lovely Cotswold village with the famous Howard Arms pub with great food and atmosphere, are both 2-3 miles away. Accommodation overview: Lawrence House is a spacious and very welcoming property at the Cotswolds Lakes that certainly excites us here! The property, which is located in a quiet corner of the Lower Mill Village, is a detached home sitting on the banks of a River Thames tributary with views looking towards the lakes beyond. In fact the owner tells us if you like to fish, you can't be better situated - fishing on your own private lake!! This particular holiday cottage has many positive elements as well as its location but in particular it has access to a large and private garden area which sits overlooking the lake and which is exclusive to guests in this cottage! Internally, the owner has maintained the cottage to a high standard and provides a contemporary holiday home ideal for families or small groups alike. Naturally the outdoor facilities, including the outdoor heated pool and tennis court not to mention the endless walks and cycle rides make this a very desirable cottage. Accommodation overview: Peter's Nest Cottage is a delightful Cotswold cottage set within a clearing called "Peter's Nest Wood", also known mysteriously as Hell's Throat!! It is the original cottage of the Woodwells farmstead (marked on an 1847 map) and is a location particularly popular as a meeting place for sociable pheasants! The cottage is at the end of a track and is best described as a truly peaceful location, ideal for those who like to get away from it all. Internally the cottage has an open plan feel on the ground floor and bedroom upstairs set within the eaves. The cottage is located on the famous Owlpen Estate, which has long been recognised as one of England's most romantic early manor houses and one which Prince Charles describes as one of his favourites. ACCOMMODATION: The accommodation is presented in a simple and traditional style that would make the cottage perfect for getting away from the city. Downstairs, the property is entered through the welcoming Kitchen, which leads down into the Living Room - a room that has wonderful views across the woods and into the Owlpen valley, woodburning stove.
