Accommodation overview: 1 OF 9 HOLIDAY COTTAGES SET IN 215 ACRES IN THE MAGICAL COTSWOLD VALLEY This fairy-tale Cotswolds hamlet centres around a church a Tudor manor house and selection of cottages all set against an equally picturesque mountainside. This valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England and provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway surrounded by private woods and hills many miles of walks from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswolds Way. Situated in the Royal Triangle in the heart of the Cotswolds hills the historic cities of Bath Cheltenham and Cirencester are all within an easy drive as are the cultural and scenic attractions of Oxford Blenheim Palace and Stratford Upon Avon which are popular day excursions. An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. National Trusts Newark Park is a few miles away as well as many historic houses including Berkeley Castle Chavenage House and Sudeley Castle. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will need to return to see and explore it all. Amenities: both properties have ample parking. Bed linen towels electric and night storage heating included. Wi-Fi is available outside the estate office. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: there is a restaurant on site which is closed on a daily basis but can be pre-booked for groups of 15 people or more by prior arrangement. However there is delicious home-cooked take away food available from the office. Please phone the office 24 hours in advance of your stay if you require take away food. The restaurant manor and cottages also adapt well and are occasionally used as an unforgettable setting for weddings gatherings of friends meetings and corporate events. Laundry service available (extra charge applies). Short breaks available commencing on either a Monday or Friday. Location: pub and shop 1 mile in village of Uley. Arrival: 3.30pm. Hillview is a Grade II listed Cotswold stone cottage c.1690 situated in the pretty village of Lower Swell. The property has been carefully renovated and refurbished whilst retaining all of its period charm.
The property is within walking distance of the traditional village pub, 'The Golden Ball' (winner of the 'Best Neighbourhood Pub of the Year' 2012).
Hillview is well placed for visiting the local villages and market towns of the Cotswolds. The market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, with its wealth of pubs, restaurants, antique shops. supermarket and independent retailers, is only a mile away. The renowned villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters, Cirencester and Burford are within easy reach, as are towns such as Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath.
The 18-hole golf course at Naunton Downs is 2.5 miles away and welcomes non-members. There are numerous walks and public footpaths surrounding the cottage.
The BBC's Countryfile 'Adams Farm' is less than three miles away and is a great, affordable, family day out.
Other local attractions include Longborough's increasingly popular Opera Festival - Longborough is less than three miles away.
Sezincote's magnificent house and romantic water gardens are three miles away and Batsford Arboretum (Britain's most visited arboretum), is four miles distant and is a spectacular sight, particularly in the Autumn.

The Farriers is a sunny Cotswold stone cottage situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Southrop.
The village is criss-crossed with footpaths, some of which lead to the River Leach, and others to the neighbouring villages of Eastleach and Hatherop. The church in Southrop dates back to 1086 and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
The famous gastropub the Swan is within a few minutes' stroll of the cottage and reservations are advised. There is a Wednesday Shop and Post Office held in the Village Hall selling supplies from Sainsburys, and the Southrop Estate also has a shop selling a selection of kitchen/dining goods and household accessories.
Southrop Manor also offers cooking classes which are held in the Tithe Barn and can be booked direct with them in advance of your stay.
High speed trains to London Paddington are available from Swindon (12 miles) or Charlbury (17 miles).
Southrop is two miles from the A361 Burford-to-Lechlade road.
