Accommodation overview: 1 OF 9 HOLIDAY COTTAGES SET IN 215 ACRES IN THE MAGICAL COTSWOLD VALLEY This fairy-tale Cotswolds hamlet centres around a church a Tudor manor house and selection of cottages all set against an equally picturesque mountainside. This valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England and provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway surrounded by private woods and hills many miles of walks from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswolds Way. Situated in the Royal Triangle in the heart of the Cotswolds hills the historic cities of Bath Cheltenham and Cirencester are all within an easy drive as are the cultural and scenic attractions of Oxford Blenheim Palace and Stratford Upon Avon which are popular day excursions. An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. National Trusts Newark Park is a few miles away as well as many historic houses including Berkeley Castle Chavenage House and Sudeley Castle. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will need to return to see and explore it all. Amenities: both properties have ample parking. Additional info: there is a restaurant on site which is closed on a daily basis but can be pre-booked for groups of 15 people or more by prior arrangement. The restaurant manor and cottages also adapt well and are occasionally used as an unforgettable setting for weddings gatherings of friends meetings and corporate events. Situated on a lake with a peaceful view across the water towards other contemporary properties, it has a Scandinavian style with a fabulous decked 'patio-area' which literally sits on the lake! Accommodation overview: Asphodel Cottage will take your breath away, without question! Situated in the sleepy village of Tarlton (half way between Cirencester and Tetbury) this thatched cottage is possibly the most romantic cottage we have come across. Dating back over 400 years it was once home a particularly tall shepherd which explains the higher than normal ceilings! Internally the property has been carefully, restored to provide superb self catering accommodation, with many Cotswold charms such as original oak beams, flagstone floors and inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. The property also has many contemporary touches with quality bed and bedding and a sumptuous bathroom which altogether create a real sense of luxury. The cottage has a delightful garden with superb views across Cotswold countryside with the source of the River Thames just a short walk away.
