Closer to the cottage in Asthall, just down the lane, is the historic Manor house and church. Asthall Manor was the childhood home of the Mitford sisters.

An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. National Trusts Newark Park is a few miles away as well as many historic houses including Berkeley Castle Chavenage House and Sudeley Castle.
