For enthusiastic gardeners Batsford Arboretum and garden centre is close by. Enjoy a day out at the Cotswold Farm Park with a cream tea in Bourton-on-the-Water or a visit to the famous motor museum. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms approached via cottage style stairs: 1 double and 1 single (with additional pull out bed on request). Bathroom: claw foot bath with WC. Lounge: with TV and DVD. October Cottage is situated in the very pretty Parish of Chalford which lies four miles south east of Stroud on the north side of the River Frome. Situated on the side of Chalford Hill the cottage is approached via a steep narrow lane. In this part of Gloucestershire the Cotswolds are cut by deep gorge-like valleys opening out westward into the Severn plain.
The village has a store where you can purchase fresh produce, the Lavender Bake House coffee shop, a Tesco Express and a fish and chip shop. There are many excellent pubs and restaurants in the area. The award winning Farmers Market at Stroud is on Saturdays.
Minchinhampton has two golf courses which are open to visitors (two miles), Nailsworth ( four miles), the market towns of Tetbury (five) miles and Cirencester (10 miles).
