Accommodation overview: Situated in the delightful area of Breckland, the Barn offers you great accommodation in the heart of Norfolk. Enjoy Swaffham, Wymondham and Dereham all super market towns and the coast at Wells and Holkham is easily accessible too! The small village of Bradenham is very pretty with a super village green that is used by the local cricket club in the season, an opportunity for all cricket lovers. Bradenham Hall gardens have featured in various publications and Gardens without Borders. The rivers Yare and Whiffey run along its boundaries and there are some pretty river walks to enjoy. It is in an ideal location for exploring Norfolk's Breckland, an area of heathland and forest set in the heart of Norfolk. The village is five miles from both the market towns of Dereham and Swaffham, which offer good shopping, restaurants, pubs and sports centres. The coast is a little further afield with Wells and Holkham being the closes, approx 30 minutes by car. This is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday with many delightful walks and cycle rides throughout the countryside.

Accommodation overview: Traditional barn in a unique location overlooking the tidal Alde Estuary. Iken is a reputed base of Boudicca and the marauding Iceni tribes who made good use of the commanding position on the south side of the Alde Estuary. Later, in 869AD, a Viking sailing fleet destroyed the 7th Century monastery at Iken. In the 19th Century sailing barges used the river to trade corn and coal between Snape, London and the east coast ports. Now, you will see the occasional pleasure boat whilst taking in the highly regarded SSSI wildlife habitat and the stunning estuary scenery. Views span from the 7th Century St Butolphs Church, standing on a promontory of higher ground, to the former maltings at Snape which are now vibrant with the sounds of the famous concert hall. Estuary Barn is the first floor (ground floor Bay View Barn (sleeps 6) ) of this traditional brick and tile barn, which no longer contains the Suffolk Punch horses that worked the surrounding farmland. The barn has been totally rebuilt retaining the many exciting original features, including the exposed roof timbers. The barn has been arranged to provide exceptionally spacious and well-equipped first floor accommodation with all the main rooms overlooking the stunning estuary. As its name would suggest, Great Snoring is a charming sleepy village, and an absolutely great place to unwind and recharge your batteries. Some will just savour the peace and quiet of this lovely area of countryside, but do not think that there is nothing to do in the area - far from it! There are many attractions offering excellent opportunities for days out including the sandy beaches at Wells and Holkham, which are within a fifteen minute drive.
