Accommodation overview: Bat Roost is great for larger groups, it has super facilities and very comfortable accommodation. The barn is full of character and the coast at Holkham, Wells and Burnham Market are all easily accessible. The Crown at Rudham is excellent for dining. Helloughton is a small village surrounded by attractive countryside. A peaceful location that has very good access to the North Norfolk Coast, the coastal villages of Burnham Market and Brancaster and the sandy beaches of Thornham and Holme. The RSPB site at Titchwell offers wonderful bird-watching opportunities. The attractive market town of Fakenham is four miles away, with its shops, bowling alley, cinema, restaurants and a Thursday market which should not be missed. Pensthorpe, home to the BBC Springwatch programme, is a great day out for all ages and is just 3 miles south east of Fakenham. National Cycle Routes 1 & 2 are just two of the routes that are in the locality and they will certainly test your staying power. A great location for a holiday at any time of the year with lots to see and do. Bat Roost is an attractive, modern barn conversion which offers very spacious and comfortable accommodation of a high standard showing attention to detail with fossil stone flooring, wrought iron balustrade and an ash staircase. Holly Cottage is a Grade II listed, 17th century mid terrace property situated in the Suffolk village of Huntingfield.
Huntingfield is a quiet village between the market towns of Framlingham and Southwold. There is an excellent pub on the green opposite the cottage which serves good food. You can also collect your supper from the pub on a 'take away' basis to enjoy in the cottage.
The nearby village of Laxfield provides a village shop and 2 further pubs. You will find a further selection of shops in the attractive market town of Halesworth less than 5 miles away.
Places to visit in the area include Framlingham with its impressive castle which is within a 20-minute drive. The elegant seaside town of Southwold with its pier and stunning beaches, boutique shops and many restaurants is only 10 miles away - afternoon tea at Tilly's is not to be missed.
