Weekly price range £359 to £798

Self catering accommodation in Treven sleeps 6.

Features include: • Garden • Pet friendly • Internet Access • Open Fire or Woodburning Stove • Short Breaks • Detached Property • Cottage Sleeps 6

Accommodation overview: Just half a mile from Tintagel, famous for its myths and legends of King Arthur, and within a 5 minute drive of the sandy surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand, this freshly renovated link-detached cottage enjoys coastal views across the surrounding countryside towards the sea.

With parts of the property dating back to the 1600’s, the comfortable accommodation now furnished to a high standard with double glazing and central heating, still retains character with exposed beams, several changes in level and low doorways, hence the name ‘Duck Down’!

Approached from the driveway where there is parking for two cars, a gated path leads through the enclosed front garden to a slate roofed verandah which catches the morning sun, and from here the front door opens to a long hallway with a tiled floor.  To one side, there is a warm and cosy beamed sitting room with lounge seating facing a wood burning stove set on the slate hearth.

A couple of steps continue down to a 2nd lounge/play room with a beamed ceiling and a sofa bed for alternative sleeping arrangements.  At the rear, one step leads directly into a well equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with slate flagstones, oak fitted units and dining suite and views of the garden and coastline beyond.

Carpeted stairs lead up from the hall to the first floor landing, three cottage style bedrooms, and a family bathroom W.C. with hand basin, corner bath and additional shower cubicle.  There is a bunk bedded room with fine views towards the cliffs and sea, one step continues up to a twin bedroom with 3ft zip linked beds, and a doorway leads into the master bedroom with a 5ft king-sized bed and en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin.

A door from the kitchen opens to the enclosed rear garden with a raised slate terrace and a couple of steps continue down to a small lawn and patio; there is also a shed available for storage of beachgear and a gate to the driveway.

The property is set in Treven, one of the seven parishes of Tintagel where there is a good selection of local shops, restaurants, museums and pubs all within easy walking distance as well as the dramatic coastal footpath and Tintagel Castle itself.  Trebarwith, 1.5 miles, has a large area of sand and rocks revealed at low tide, and the picturesque harbour village of Boscastle is a 10 minute drive.

Bodmin Moor, the beaches on the Camel Estuary and The Camel Trail are within easy reach, whilst the larger towns of Bude, Camelford, Wadebridge, Bodmin and Launceston are all within a half hour car journey offering a wider range of facilities.
