If you are looking for a truly secluded retreat, then Peppercombe Holt is for you. Nestling in a tranquil wooded valley leading down to the sea, nature lovers will be enthralled by the canopy of ancient trees and the abundance of ferns and wild flowers. Approached via a narrow track of just over one third of a mile - unsuitable for low suspension or extra wide vehicles - it adjoins the owners own holiday cottage, just used occasionally. The cosy living room with inglenook has a wood burning stove, lovely at any time of year. The modern breakfast kitchen features a slate tiled floor complimented by granite style worktops and is well equipped for all your needs. From a rear utility room, useful for coats and boots, five steps lead up to the modern family bathroom and an open tread staircase leads to the three bedrooms on the first floor. A spacious double room, a compact twin room and a single room, all have wonderful views and feature deep window sills, and traditional latched board doors. As may be expected in this type of cottage some doorways have low head room. At the side of the cottage a raised patio is ideal for al fresco dining and the sloping and tiered cottage garden, with covered pond, has lots of peaceful spots to relax surrounded only by the sounds of nature. Keen walkers will find endless coastal and country footpaths leading almost from the doorstep, a favourite being the walk to Peppercombe Beach, shown in the photograph, with its unique red cliffs and mini waterfall, pebbles at high tide give way to a lovely sandy inlet with interesting rock pools and beach fishing at low tide. In an unforgettable and unique location Peppercombe Holt is just perfect for a truly get away from it all holiday at any time of year.
