On the boundary of Somerset’s Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, this is an ideal place for walkers, bird-watchers, cyclists or for those who want a peaceful holiday. Two Bridges has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard, and offers spacious accommodation. There is a spacious garden which has been beautifully maintained. There is fly fishing available by arrangement in the river just 200 yards from the property (children must be supervised), and there are many places to visit including Crealy Adventure Park which is just outside Exeter. Exeter with its fabulous cathedral, many shops, canal and quaint hidden pubs is close by, as is Taunton with its array of shops. Exmouth with its sandy beaches is only 35 minutes away or take a trip to Exmoor National Park and look out for red deer and ponies, or take a Landrover ride across the rugged terrain. There are many villages well worth visiting across Exmoor, take time out for a cream tea, or stop to see some breathtaking scenery. There are many National Trust places close by including Arlington Court, Watersmeet and Dunster Castle, as well as Marwood Gardens. Cothay Manor is 3 miles; Glastonbury and Cheddar Caves are within driving distance of the property, and well worth a day out. Minehead is not far away, with its sandy beach, steam railway and shops. It is hard to believe just how amazingly pretty and peaceful this tiny hamlet really is - just a church, a few cottages, and farmland all around in a totally unspoilt and most unvisited corner of West Somerset. Shops 2¾ miles, pub ½ mile.

From Truro a boat trip can be taken to St Mawes, Falmouth or the Helford river to explore Daphne du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek. Falmouth is nearby with a choice of sandy beaches and excellent sailing. The National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle are popular attractions together with the multitude of gardens open to the public. Trelissick Gardens is at the head of the Fal estuary with sweeping panoramic views and woodland walks along the river amidst the surrounding parkland. Glendurgan Garden at Mawnan Smith is a valley garden created in the 1820s, which offers a maze and many species of exotic and rare plants with showy camellias and magnolias making a magnificent display. Alternatively head to the north coast for Perranporth with its wide sandy beaches and surfing schools or visit St Austell for the exciting Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

This stretch of coast is steeped in the smuggling history, and not far south of Widemouth Bay some amazing little inlets and coves can be found.
Widemouth Bay itself is a very convenient location for those wishing to visit other places of interest - and being close to the Cornwall/Devon border, visitors are able to see the steep cobbled streets of Clovelly, Westward Ho!, Hartland, Ilfracombe, Exmoor and Dartmoor, as well as Bodmin Moor which lies further afield. It is only a short drive to a host of sheltered coves and sandy beaches as well as attractions including the Tamar Otter Park, Brooklands Adventure Park, Launceston Steam Railway, The Eden Project, Tintagel with its legends of King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table, and Boscastle with its fishing trips to name but a few. A game of golf can be enjoyed at one of the many clubs in the area. Bude is approximately 3 miles away and has good shops, restaurants, squash, horse riding and a leisure pool, windsurfing, rock-climbing, and sea, canal and lake-side fishing. Shop 400 yards.

For walkers and bird-watchers, this really is the most suitable accommodation. There are so many walks to enjoy from the front door.
Many activities are available in the area including golf, fishing, horse riding and sailing. There are also numerous NT properties - all within a short drive. Exmouth is close by and has lovely 2-mile stretch of beach and was once home to the wives of Nelson and Byron respectively, whilst a bit further on lies the genteel town of Budleigh Salterton with its white-washed and thatched cottages which attracted such visitors as Noel Coward and PG Wodehouse. A complete contrast to the seascapes is the rugged landscape and wild outdoors of the Dartmoor National Park, with mile upon mile of open moorland and wild ponies grazing.
