Accommodation overview: Within a 15 minute drive of the stunning beaches at Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay and Bude, this deceptively spacious detached barn conversion is set back from a country lane in the middle of a farming hamlet surrounded by fields and woodland.
Ideally situated to enjoy the delights of North Cornwall's beaches, coastal walks, seaside towns and beautiful scenery, Cottage Barn offers cosy and comfortable accommodation and retains much charm and character with exposed beams and stonework. Approached from the driveway where there is parking for 2 cars, the front door set beneath an open porch roof leads directly into an entrance hallway with a tiled floor and coat pegs.
On one side there is a ground floor twin bedroom with an additional single sofa bed, and on the opposite side of the hall is a shower room W.C. with hand basin and a wide shower cubicle. An inner door and three granite steps lead down to a long open-plan living room with a vaulted ceiling at one end. The dining area has a pine dining suite also with a single sofa bed, there is an adjacent well equipped fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar, and at the far end, one step continues down to a pleasant sitting room with comfortable seating overlooking beautiful countryside.
To one side, a low doorway opens to a lovely double glazed conservatory which has a wood burning stove, wicker furniture and French Windows leading out to the terrace and garden. In one corner of the lounge, a spiral staircase leads up to the large galleried master bedroom with a kingsize bed, a 3ft single bed with a pull out guest bed underneath, and an en-suite bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath. The additional beds are in place to offer greater flexibility with a variety of bed combinations.
The enclosed rear garden overlooks the surrounding farmland and has a small lawn, gravel terrace and lower paved patio so that you can follow the sun all day. The garden which borders on to fields containing livestock is fenced but not totally dog proof so please ensure your pets are kept under control at all times.
Wainhouse Corner, just over a mile away, has a pub offering food, garage, and P.O. store and the nearest beach is 4 miles away at Crackington Haven. Accommodation overview: SPACIOUS HOUSE IN SOUGHT AFTER COASTAL VILLAGE This detached period house sits in its own enclosed garden and is a short stroll to the centre of the village of Rock. Rock itself is located in North Cornwall on the north side of the Camel Estuary across from the fishing port of Padstow. It s name comes from the local quarry where the rocks were used as ballast by sailing ships which had unloaded their cargo across the river. The village has many shops including a bakery newsagent and post office a delicatessen and a small but excellent supermarket. Guests will be spoilt by a variety of good restaurants and pubs in Rock or nearby Padstow. Much to see and do: Surfing at Polzeath rent a wetsuit on the beach and have a go. Take the ferry over to the historic fishing port of Padstow and visit Prideaux Place. Sightseeing at St Enodoc Church recovered from the sand dunes and final resting place of Sir John Betjemen. Walk out to the Rumps to look for seals or consult the OS map for a huge variety of local scenic walks. Bike along the Camel Trail on the disused railway line to Wadebridge and Bodmin. Accommodation overview: Only 150 yards from the sea with elevated sea views from the sunny south facing garden, this pretty semi-detached cottage of great character is situated in the unspoilt Cornish fishing village of Portloe, tucked far down on the delightful Roseland Peninsula.
Here, stoutly built cottages with slated grey roofs cluster along the lower slopes of the well sheltered and secluded valley and around the shores of a small Cornish cove where a few boats still unload their catch of lobster, crab and other fish.
Proncha is within 60 yards of the coastal path and easy walking distance of the picturesque cove, slipway and pub. There is a shop and sub post office at Veryan 1.5 miles away and Melinsey Mill offering cream teas and lunch is close by. Several sandy beaches are a short drive away.
Approached through a small walled and gated front garden, the front door set beneath an open porch leads directly into a comfortable sitting room with a slate hearth. Linked by three steps is a maple fitted kitchen / dining room. Both rooms have low beam ceilings and terracotta tile floors with rugs. The windows, set into thick stone walls, look out over the garden.
Upstairs are two bedrooms with a double bed and twin beds respectively and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, shower over the bath and an access door to the garden. Tucked into the hillside the main part of the garden has a grassed sun bathing area behind the Fuchsia hedge, flower beds and shrubs on three levels with a Gazebo providing shelter and a commanding view over the bay in the direction of Dodman Point. Toddlers will require supervision.
It is possible to unload the car outside the cottage; parking is available 50 yards away in the village car park (honesty box).
The harbourside village of St Mawes is about a 20 minute drive where a passenger ferry operates to the maritime town of Falmouth. The main shopping centres of Truro and St Austell are within easy reach as are many of the finest Cornish Gardens including Caerhays Castle, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project.

Accommodation overview: Rosehill Cottage is perfectly situated within the small picturesque village of St Breward, and is nestled away with a large garden and views across the valley. The property which is full of character features and dates back to the 18th century but was recently renovated to provide a wonderful home for a family or couples alike. Rosehill Cottage is a tranquil retreat for guests wishing to escape from it all, yet provides easy access to many magnificent beaches on the North Cornish Coast, as well as the popular fishing towns of Padstow and Port Isaac which is famously known for the Doc Martin series.
With parking for 3 cars outside the property, Rosehill Cottage is accessed via a few small steps and leads straight into a traditional dining room with wood burning stove and original tiled flooring. To one side, a doorway leads into a cosy lounge which provides an open fireplace, television and views across the garden. Straight through from the dining room, a well-equipped galley style kitchen is to the left which also provides a stable door with access straight back into the garden. On the other side of the hallway, the sole bathroom with shower over, WC, basin and traditional tiled flooring is based on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen and sits at the bottom of the wooden staircase that leads up to the first floor landing.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms both with standard sized double beds, plus two additional spacious single bedrooms which sit either side of the upstairs landing. To the front of the property there is a large stone driveway which can park up to three cars. The generous sized garden with garden furniture provides views across the valley.
The moorland village of St Breward is the highest and largest on Bodmin Moor. The village provides its own Post Office, village store and The Old Inn pub with restaurant (dating back to the 11th century). The Camel Trail is also very popular with cyclists and easily accessible from the property. A 10 mile drive will take you to the popular fishing villages on the north coast such as Trebarwith, Port Isaac and Polzeath and the larger towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and Camelford are all within a 10 mile radius.
