Accommodation overview: This large A frame lodge is sited on Hengar Manor Country Park, offering families of all ages, a great base for an activity filled holiday. Mallards, along with its sister properties Drakes and Coots, are all located in Hengar Manor Country Park. Situated a few miles inland from the dramatic North Cornwall coastal towns of Wadebridge, Padstow and Camelford and in an area known for its natural beauty, Hengar Manor offers peace and quiet amongst its 35 acres of gardens, woodland and three fishing lakes. On site facilities also include an outdoor woodland playground, as well as indoor leisure centre with swimming pool and slides and a spa and beauty centre. With such comprehensive leisure facilities on site there really is no need to venture further afield, as no matter how the weather is, there is entertainment for all ages on site. For those wishing to explore the area there are many famous towns, villages or gardens to visit close by, as well as gorgeous beaches within a few miles from Padstow to Tintagel. Mallards is a large 'A frame' lodge style dwelling with entrance gained directly from its small front patio, into the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. This spacious room has comfortable seating for all and a large farmhouse dining table, where meals can be enjoyed and further holiday plans made. The dining area leads into the compact kitchen which provides all the essential equipment needed. With an on-site restaurant offering Italian food and a tavern bar offering a more traditional menu, you may find you eat in less than expected. The ground floor is completed by a twin room and separate shower room with WC and basin. This offers a very flexible and practical sleeping arrangement. The central open-tread staircase leads up to a further two bedrooms and family bathroom with bath, WC and basin. The master bedroom is spacious and has the added advantage of a balcony with seating, protected by the pitched roof of the lodge. The third bedroom is a twin room and runs the length of the lodge, with windows at either end it is light and airy. Heating throughout the lodge is from night storage heaters with extra independent heaters if required, ensuring you stay is warm and cosy all year round. Mallards makes a great family based choice for a holiday where maybe the extra facilities on offer take priority. Accommodation: Ground floor. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside, it offers a good touring base to explore the picturesque villages and harbours of North Cornwall's dramatic coast and Bodmin Moor, just a short drive away.
Double glazed, built of solid stone and retaining many of its original charming characteristics, the cottage is set to one side of the owner’s house and paddocks where there is an abundance of birds and wildlife.
Approached by a quiet country lane and a gated driveway with a private parking area, four railed steps and a path lead around to the entrance at the rear. The stable door opens to a small hallway and to one side, a step leads down to an attractive, bright living room with the original exposed beams rising up to the apex of the roof and cream painted walls.
There is a neatly fitted galley kitchen, a dining area and a comfortable sitting area with French Windows leading out to the enclosed garden with a sun deck and level lawn overlooking the surrounding countryside. Visitors are also welcome to explore the owner’s adjacent grassy paddock.
Leading off the central hallway, there is a fully tiled shower room W.C. with hand basin and heated towel rail and a pretty double bedroom with rustic pine bedroom furniture and views of the garden with fields beyond. A single sofa chair bed can be made available on request as an alternative sleeping arrangement to the double bed.
Camelford, half a mile, has a good selection of small shops, a restaurant and two pubs, and there is also a local sports centre with swimming pool. Bowood Championship Golf Course and Country Club is just a 5 minute drive.
Boscastle and Tintagel are both within 5 miles, as is the nearest beach at Trebarwith Strand, and the beaches around the Camel Estuary, including Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock are within a 20 minute drive.

Accommodation overview: Set to one side of a quiet country lane between Cubert village and the sea, this 200 year old detached and double glazed cottage has been freshly renovated to a high standard and is surrounded by lovely countryside with glimpses of the sea on the horizon.
Well placed for access to Holywell Bay, 1 mile, Porth Joke and West Pentire beaches which can be reached by road or by public footpath to Cubert Common and the cliff path which links all three for the more energetic.
Entered through a glazed front porch with room for the storage of coats, an inner door leads directly into a bright and sunny, dual aspect sitting room with comfortable lounge seating arranged before the wood burning stove. Beyond is a recently enlarged modern kitchen/dining room with smart fitted units, quarry tiled floor and ample dining space; there is also a door to an enclosed paved courtyard with patio furniture and a shed for storage of beachgear.
Painted stairs lead up from the lounge to the first floor where there is a newly fitted bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and shower cubicle and two charming bedrooms with a 5ft king-size and twin beds respectively. From the master bedroom views of the sea on the horizon can be enjoyed.
The sheltered garden has a good sized level lawn and there is off road parking for two cars on the gravel drive which can be gated to enclose the garden. A lockable garage is also available and there is a seldom used right of way to one other cottage. The village has a grocery store/P.O., pub and two restaurants all within a 15 minute walk and there is a regular bus service to Newquay and the cathedral city of Truro.
The sandy beach at Holywell Bay is about 1 mile and Crantock 2.5 miles, with West Pentire slightly further where there is a summer passenger ferry to Newquay which with its amenities is 5 miles by road. The immediate vicinity provides several golf courses and riding stables, there are local walks across Cubert Common to the coastal footpath, a fun park nearby offers go karting and children’s amusements and Newquay Zoo and Sea Life Centre are about a 15 minute drive.
