Leisure facilities: guests have access to the swimming pool located at Whitsand Bay Holiday Park at the top of the cliff for a small additional charge. The accommodation has been finished to a high standard and offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. Shower room: with WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with Smart TV DVD Blu-Ray iPod dock and woodburner (logs included). Dining area: with French doors out to garden and decked area. Accommodation overview: A traditional listed Cornish cottage with glimpses of the sea and St Michaels Mount from upstairs, set in a pretty little walled and gated front garden close to the 14th century Parish Church at Madron, a few minutes drive from the attractive town of Penzance.
A low stable door opens under heavy blooms of wisteria in summer, directly into a charming beamed living room which spans the whole width of the cottage, with a massive open granite hearth at one end. At the rear of the cottage is a well equipped neat kitchen with some fitted units, and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and bath with shower attachment. A glazed back door opens to a private and sunny garden fully enclosed which can be seen from the kitchen window.
In one corner of the sitting room, cottage stairs twist up to two appealing pleasantly furnished bedrooms with double and twin beds respectively. Both are carpeted and have low windows set into thick walls with window seats and a distant view between the rooftops below of the glinting waters of Mounts Bay. Steep stairs make this property unsuitable for toddlers and the elderly may also have difficulty.
Madron has a village pub which serves food. Penzance and Mounts Bay with extensive shops and beaches are under 10 minutes drive and the Isles of Scilly are easily accessible via the ferry service. It is possible to park on the road outside the cottage and there is a free village car park 75 yards away.

In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present Solebay Cottage at Pendeen Lighthouse. Pendeen Lighthouse lies six miles north of Land's End and two miles from St Just. The lighthouse was established in 1900, electrified in 1926 and automated in 1994.
You may be lucky enough to spot seals on the rocks below the lighthouse headland, as well as a variety of seabirds. With banks of seasonal pink thrift and golden gorse, the headland is a perfect location to watch the sun setting over the Atlantic.
You are reminded that Pendeen Lighthouse is an operational lighthouse and there is an electronic fog signal that operates automatically; ear plugs are provided in case conditions are misty.
While the cliff edge is protected by a 4' high wall, for safety we would ask that children must be supervised at all times.
Access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

Accommodation overview: Virtually a sister cottage to the Dove Cot having been reclaimed from the same two storey building although the bedrooms are a little bigger.
On the ground floor is a beamed L-shaped living room and a bathroom / W.C. with shower over the bath and heated towel rail. From the living room a door opens to a patio area at the rear, an ideal spot for sundowners whilst watching the sun go down over the ocean.
There is a gate giving access to the paddock area. Upstairs are two bedrooms with sea views - double and twin beds respectively. If a cot is required the maximum number of people that can be accommodated has to be reduced to three.
