Lower Gew details

At the end of a private gated road our three spacious and luxuriously appointed detached cottages offer peaceful seclusion in a beautiful setting within natural woodland and all grass farmland. With stunning, uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside, St Clethers and Lower Gew sit either side of a natural pond and stream fed by water from an ancient holy well, whilst Little Hill nestles against the hillside nearby.

The cottages and their surroundings were originally the farmyard and buildings of what is still a working sheep farm. Many original features including the oak beams have been retained within the cottages, all tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort and relaxation in mind.

Wildlife is in abundance and there are numerous footpaths and winding country lanes to explore, lined with a glorious display of wild flowers throughout spring and summer.

The villages of Ladock and Probus are within a mile of Ventonglidder. Both have friendly local pubs with restaurants. Probus offers two further restaurants and a cafe, a fish and chip shop, a farm shop, a mini supermarket including post office, and a garage with a shop.

Ventonglidder is open to guests throughout the year with a minimum stay of two nights apart from Christmas and New Year.
