Accommodation overview: 1 OF 4 COTTAGES SET WITHIN A NATURE RESERVE WITH SHEEP PONIES GOATS AND CATTLE These traditional Cornish granite cottages approached via a long private drive are set in 20 acres in the centre of Helman Tor Nature Reserve and overlook Redmoor with Helman Tor above them and Breney Common on the far side of the Tor. On the farm is a small flock of goats some Exmoor ponies and the nearest fields are grazed by Dexter cattle and further over by Belted Galloway cattle. There is a network of trails leading to all parts of the Reserve which are provided by Cornwall Wildlife Trust and a map of these is included inside the property folders and can also be found on the Trust s website. The Saints Way path which leaves Padstow and reaches Fowey passes the other side of the Tor where there is small car park. Close by is the National Trust Lanhydrock House with beautiful gardens and cycle tracks which connect to Bodmin and the Camel Trail Cycle Track. The Eden Project golf fishing and horse riding are nearby. The cottages have been converted from a range of old granite farm buildings dating back to the 1860s and many original features have been retained. Maximum use is made of sunlight through solar electricity generation and water and heating and ventilation systems. Each cottage is provided with a copy of The Saints Way a book describing the Way running from Padstow to Fowey past Helman Tor and other interesting landmarks of the Way. A low enclosed wall separates the cottages from the rest of the farm. Outside: shared enclosed lawn offers plenty of space for children to play. Some toys are provided along with a BBQ and seating.
