Accommodation overview: Spacious detached family home from home, just on the edge of Braunton with a great range of facilities. Located to the edge of the village in a favoured residential area, this fabulous detached home is ideal for a memorable family holiday. Braunton has a great selection of pubs, shops and restaurants and is only a short drive from the gorgeous sandy beaches of Saunton and Croyde. The Tarka Trail runs through the village, perfect for cyclists or walkers to enjoy a variety of landscapes as it winds its way along the route taken by Tarka the Otter in Henry Williamson's famous book. Modern in design, the well thought out accommodation offers a spacious open plan living room and separate dining area with space for all the family to relax after busy days on the beach or at one of the many family attractions nearby. The modern breakfast kitchen is extremely well equipped and leads out onto a path with several steps up to the fully enclosed rear garden area. Mostly lawned, this is a great spot for informal al fresco dining or just sitting with a good book on a sunny afternoon. A convenient ground floor shower room is situated off the internal hallway and stairs rise up to the four attractive bedrooms, the master double room has its own ensuite shower room and there is a further family bathroom. Two double rooms, one twin room and a bunk room offer great flexibility for large families or two family groups holidaying together. Several sandy beaches are within a 15-minute walk, or a few minutes' drive. Nearby car parks include the National Trust car park at Mill Bay. There are scenic walks in all directions from the property including spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path and a track leading down to Mill Bay and the Salcombe estuary. It is a fantastic location for those who love coastal walks, sailing and peace.
Salcombe is just a few minutes away from Mill Bay by ferry and has excellent restaurants, cafes, shops and holiday buzz. Various boat trips and boats for hire are available.
The new restaurant and bar at Gara Rock is a quarter of a mile from the property in a spectacular position overlooking the sea (open at least April-Sept). The villages of East Prawle and South Pool with their pubs, cafe and shop are within four miles, other village shops and farm shops are about 15 minutes' drive. The local market town of Kingsbridge is about 20 minutes and historic Dartmouth is 30 minutes away.
