Accommodation overview: ONE OF THE OLDEST PROPERTIES IN APPLEDORE This hidden gem is located less than a minute s walk from the quayside of Appledore. Reputedly one of the oldest properties in Appledore it has been recently converted to a high standard yet maintains much of its original charm and character with wooden floorboards and inglenook fireplace. The village of Appledore is situated at the point where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet before joining the Atlantic Ocean at Bideford bay. The village has a wealth of maritime history narrow streets cobbled courtyards and Fishermans cottages with many pubs and restaurants and maritime museum. Appledore is also a perfect location for touring the whole of North Devon with its choice of popular beaches coastal walks golf courses and family attractions which include The Big Sheep Dartington Crystal RHS Rosemoor The Milky Way and more. This charming semi-detached former farm workers cottage is in the heart of Combe Martin with pubs, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The cottage fronts onto the famous two mile long High Street, and also has a rear entrance from the lane running to the side of the property across a small, enclosed, cobbled courtyard. There is a modern galley style kitchen and utility room, and an archway joins the living and dining rooms which are comfortably furnished in a traditional style. Both bedrooms on the first floor are in pine together with a spacious, modern bathroom. In an ideal location, within a short drive of all of North Devon's attractions, Prospect Cottage is perfect for walkers who can enjoy this fantastic coastline and the ever changing Exmoor scenery. Set on the edge of the peaceful village of Lee Bay it offers breathtaking scenery and cliff-top coastal walks with unrivalled scenery from your front door. You will be a 10 minutes drive from the popular long sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde. The location is also perfect for exploring the Tarka Cycling Trail a little further on is the National Trust area of Heddons Mouth and on to the wild expanses of Exmoor. It is great for dog walking romantic evening strolls and rambling. When the tide is out Lee Bay reveals a sandy beach ideal for the children offering swimming canoeing rock pooling mermaids and even pirates have been rumoured to have been seen! In the evening take a stroll to the traditional village pub The Grampus Inn which serves great local food real ales and fantastic cream teas. In fact you will find all the ingredients for the perfect break in North Devon right on your door step. Both properties are fully self-contained and have their own private entrance and charming gardens to relax in and enjoy. If you are hoping to go away with family or friends they can be booked together to sleep a total of 7. This double booking gives the luxury of space and privacy. They are both approached by a number of stone steps and care should be taken. Outside: each property is securely fenced and gated with a gravelled area to the front and side. Sturdy garden furniture and BBQs are provided for both properties. Shared utility room: with washing machine tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. Amenities: roadside parking for 1 car per property located downhill with further safe parking found in the village car park a short distance away. Bed linen towels and electric included.
