Accommodation overview: 150 YEAR OLD FISHERMAN S COTTAGE 2 BALCONIES WITH HARBOUR VIEWS Nestling in one of Britain s most beautiful harbours and situated at the southernmost end of Torbay this pretty fisherman s cottage offers a unique holiday experience. There are panoramic views of the harbour and marina from every floor and a large balcony where you can sit back and relax overlooking the bustling old fish quay. You will be a stone s throw away from the harbour where there are a multitude of boats offering pleasure or fishing trips to visitors an array of colourful cottages and numerous seafood restaurants cafes shops and pubs. The English Riviera offers some of the best beaches in the country with sheltered bays coves and rock pools and is the perfect arena to watch or partake in any number of water sports including scuba diving and sailing. You will also be within a short drive to Torquay where you ll find the palm-lined promenade seafront gardens a lively harbour and an international marina. There are many attractions to suit all tastes including Brixham Heritage Museum Kents Cavern Babbacombe Model Village Kingswear/Dartmouth (10 minutes drive) and much more. Set on 4 floors and entered on the second floor the accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: large master on the third floor with a vanity basin double bed TV and fabulous views of the harbour and marina. 1 twin room on the top floor and approached via winding stairs (children beware) with low wooden beams and balcony with spectacular views to the breakwater lifeboat station and the inner and outer harbours. Bathroom: on the third floor with shower over bath and WC. Downstairs WC. Lounge: located downstairs offers a TV/DVD and french doors to a decked balcony. Kitchen/diner: open-plan with cooker fridge/freezer microwave TV CD and extra seating to enjoy the picturesque harbour view. Outside: large decked balcony area with garden furniture. Amenities: parking is limited to unloading due to narrow streets but there is free roadside parking usually available 5 minutes walk away. A council car park is also 5 minutes away and a weekly permit can be purchased to include all Torbay council-run car parks during your stay. Bed linen towels electric and central heating included although there is a small supplementary charge of 15 for heating from November to Easter. Regret no pets or smoking. Additional info: the accommodation includes some winding stairs and low wooden beams so care must be taken. There is no washing machine but a laundry is a short walk away. The end and mid terrace cottages are situated on the road to Bradworthy and have river and Yeo Valley views. A short drive to various local surfing beaches (20 minutes drive to the 2 miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho!) The market town of Bideford has a range of shops pubs restaurants and a pannier market and is home to the Oldenburg which offers boat trips to Lundy Island. Other attractions close by include RHS Rosemoor Gardens Dartington Crystal The Big Sheep The Milky Way and some of the finest National Trust cliff-top walks in the area. The property is also close to the Tarka Trail popular with walkers and cyclists and is located on a favoured cycling route up the Yeo Valley. Relax in the conservatory with reflective glass to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter or sit on the raised patio in the garden overlooking the valley. There are also a range of village inns close by serving food. Outside: shared use of Iris Hideaway situated in its natural riverside setting 160 yards away with private fishing.
