Accommodation overview: LOVELY 1850 S COTTAGE IN TRANQUIL VILLAGE SETTING In the peaceful village of Buckland Monachorum with its historic 14th century church this charming 1850s terraced cottage has been furnished and equipped to a lovely comfortable standard. It is situated a short stroll away from the village inn which serves good food. It is also a 4 minute drive to another equally lovely pub in the next pretty village of Milton Combe. With rugged Dartmoor on your doorstep and Devon and Cornwall s beautiful and unspoilt beaches within easy reach you will find there is so much to do in this area. Enjoy some of the stunning moorland walks or you could visit local Sheepstor and see the cottage and localities used in the film Warhorse. There are golf courses horse riding coarse fishing and cycle hire available locally. Dog walkers are now welcome (NEW) to enjoy estate walks at the National Trust Buckland Abbey estate (former home of Sir Francis Drake a 4 minute drive). Also the newly acquired /opened Cider House gardens close by (a 3 minute drive) are a haven of tranquillity. This property has an extensive range of events and workshops for all the family. Other National Trust properties include Cothele Antony Saltram Lydford Gorge and Wembury / Bovisand beaches are all within easy reach. Adjoining the village The Garden House gardens and tearoom are easily walkable from the cottage and are a favourite of gardening T.V.presenters. Plymouth (10 miles) offers a wide variety of restaurants and features the new Fearnley Whittingstall s River Cottage Restaurant and City shops but also has its Historic Barbican and Hoe Theatre Royal and Vue cinema complex as well as the National Marine Aquarium. Morwellham Quay (featured in Edwardian Farm) The Eden Project Whitsand Bay and attractive seaside villages and beaches such as Polperro and Port Isaac (featured in Doc Martin) are within easy reach.
