Accommodation overview: A highly individual character barn conversion with lovely original features and just perfect for family groups. Nestling in the tiny hamlet of West Saunton, just a few minutes from the fabulous three mile expanse of golden sandy beach backed by spectacular dunes this highly individual barn, set beside a working farm, has been sympathetically converted to provide an excellent holiday home. With a wonderful mix of original character features and contemporary style, the spacious accommodation features some amazing oak beams and lovely stripped pine floors. The entrance hall leads through to a large living / dining room with comfy sofas and table and chairs to seat eight. The attractive country style well equipped kitchen also provides a table and chairs, perfect for leisurely breakfast or less formal dining. A ground floor shower room is also found off the hall. Upstairs, accessed from the spacious landing are four stylish bedrooms. The master double room, with King Size bed has an ensuite shower room. Bedroom two is a double, making the property perfect for two family occupation. Bedroom three is a triple room with a double and a single bed, and bedroom four an attractive single. A modern pristine family bathroom serves these rooms. Outside and in front of the cottage is a lawned garden with garden furniture and barbecue, and there is ample parking available both in the car port and on the lane. Situated in an elevated position overlooking the valley and surrounded by farmland, Bittadon Cottage is to be found in the pretty hamlet of Bittadon, just eight miles from the beach at Woolacombe.
It is a modernised 19th Century semi-detached stone property approached up a narrow country lane leading to a gravel drive with steps down to a pretty courtyard, and set within a terraced garden with summerhouse and pathway leading down to a large spring-fed pond, a haven for the local wildlife. The pond area is accessed only through a locked gate.
The Blue Flag beach at Woolacombe provides a great day out for the family; and Exmoor with its beautiful walks is a mere 10 miles away. Good food at Muddiford and Prixford is just a short drive and well worth a visit. Other attractions include surfing, golf, fishing, walking and horse-riding.
