Accommodation overview: Milton Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed holiday cottage tucked away in the classic Cotswold village of Bledington. The house has a lovely history, reputedly once the cart house to the village Vicarage! Today it offers a very high standard of self catering accommodation in a very attractive location, with many attractive villages nearby. Presented beautifully and to a high specification, the cottage has both space and cosiness in abundance. Perhaps of particular appeal is the option to walk to the excellent local pub and enjoy some superb food....! Accommodation overview: The Old Reading Room is a delightful and intimate country retreat set in the heart of this lovelyand peaceful village. The cottage has been lovingly restored to a very high specification from what was originally the old school room where local children would have practised their reading and music. It provides spacious, contemporary and welcoming accommodation set across two floors with many traditional features evident, including Cotswold stone walls, open log burning fire and beams. Externally the property has its own seating area plus access to a delightful country cottage garden. The cottage is situated in the heart of Bledington, a classic Cotswold village with quintessential village green, delightful stream with ducks, plus the renowned Kings Head pub. In our opinion this is a stunning English Country Cottage that is certain to delight.ACCOMMODATION Entrance through to Kitchen / Dining RoomKitchen, superbly equipped with granite-style breakfast bar with leather breakfast stools, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and fridge and freezer. Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful 300-year-old Cotswold stone cottage nestled in the the quiet, unspoilt village of Windrush. Surrounded by National Trust land, there are numerous walks in the stunning Windrush valley leading to water meadows and idyllic villages. Wildlife and birds are abundant and you will often see foxes, badgers, hares, deer and many beautiful species of birds and wildflowers. It is a perfect cottage to relax by the fire and unwind.
If you desire to find culture and shopping, Oxford and Cheltenham are approximately 20 miles away. The famous and historic market town of Burford is four miles west of Windrush and hosts an abundance of interesting shops and boutiques as well as some excellent pubs and restaurants. It also can be accessed by a four mile cycle trail along the Windrush valley.
The historic Fox Inn is situated on the river and is a 20-minute stroll across the fields where you can enjoy excellent food. The Inn for All Seasons is a 20-minute walk across fields and serves outstanding food and wines. The National Trust village of Sherborne is a two mile ramble along the valley. The outstanding Sherborne Village Shop and Tearooms serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and delicious homemade cakes. The deli is exceptional and you can find an amazing selection of goodies for your larder. Bibury, Coln St Aldwyns, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within the local area. Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon are within an hour's drive.
