Accommodation overview: Chimney Farm Barns (Visit Britain 5 Star Gold) are three stunning barns, situated in a beautiful Nature Reserve located within the beautiful Oxfordshire Cotswolds, convenient for Oxford, Cheltenham, Burford and easy to get to and from London. Although the properties are available independently, together they offer superb accommodation for groups of 18 to 36 people. Internally, the accommodation is open plan and presented in a contemporary style with some amazing and original features. Plasma TVs, free WIFI and ipod docking stations are installed throughout. Externally, the properties enjoy over 10 acres of their own fabulous private space and tranquil countryside. The hamlet of Chimney is a magical place, an excellent holiday base to explore the area, great for a family get together (relax and re-charge the batteries), use for a group celebration or re-union.The owners have also sourced a number of local suppliers who would be able to add to the experience including catering and local food produce delivery, please ask for further details.PLEASE NOTE THAT PRICES WILL VARY ACCORDING TO THE SIZE OF YOUR PARTY AND WHETHER YOU REQUIRE TWO OR THREE BARNS (AND WHICH BARNS!!). USE OF BBQ HUT AVAILABLE These delightful properties set within 3 acres with a gentle unfenced stream bordering the land make the perfect base for touring the area. Enjoy lovely walks along country lanes or to the village inn which is a 5 minutes stroll and offers a range of good food. There is much to see and do in the area the world famous designer outlet at Bicester Village is a 10 minutes drive The Cotswolds with its picturesque villages Warwick Castle Waddesdon Manor Blenheim Palace and numerous National Trust properties and Gardens Silverstone Henley for its Regatta Oxford with its spires and much more. Bicester Hotel Golf Club and Spa are only a short drive. Even a day trip to London is very accessible on the train. In the evenings enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn see the resident Alpacas in the adjoining field or enjoy a glass of wine in the attractive gardens. The cottage has been converted to provide spacious self catering accommodation with many period features retained including large beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a woodburning stove (logs supplied) which collectively give it a very cosy and warm feel. Externally the holiday cottage, which is next to the owner's farmhouse, sits overlooking a large and private garden with views across rolling Cherwell valley countryside. Local InformationSomerton is delightful village steeped in history dating back hundreds of years with mentions in the Domesday Book and also links to William The Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings. The church in particular (a Grade One listed building) is relatively famous in local circles for its historical significance. Somerton is no more than 15 mins outside Woodstock, the very popular Oxfordshire market town and just 15 miles from the centre of Oxford. The village also enjoys superb travel links with Bicester train station (to London Marylebone) 10 mins drive away or Junction 10 of the M40 no more than 3 miles away. The village sits on the northern side of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with the River Cherwell and Oxford Canal both meandering through the edge of the village and just moments from this holiday cottage. The meadows at the river are absolutely perfect for evening 'sun-downers'. There are many walks to choose from, right from your door. The very famous and very popular Bicester Shopping Outlet Centre (or Bicester Village as it is called) is 10 mins away if shopping is your thing. There are a variety of good pubs in the locality, but none in the village. Of particular note is The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, one of the prettiest spots imaginable.

The cottage is a very good size for four people, but has the advantage of an extra bed if a fifth person wishes to travel*.
