Accommodation overview: Dairy Cottage is an attractive holiday cottage situated in the stunning Cotswolds village of Minster Lovell. The cottage is attached the owner's home and sits within 3 acres of gardens which roll down towards the River Windrush. Internally the cottage is a spacious and charming holiday home with many character features including old timbers and exposed walls and attractive furnishings. The cottage enjoys it's own private and enclosed garden with access to the owners' gardens as well access to an indoor swimming pool and tennis court* and fishing on the river. Locally is the beautiful village which has a small hotel / pub and some tremendous walks into the countryside. Accommodation overview: Cider Press (ETC 3 Stars) is a well apportioned studio apartment attached to The Mill in Burford, (downstairs from Lime Tree). The Mill Stream runs beneath the courtyard and the apartment has a small balcony overlooking a wonderful view of the stream and the surrounding woodland. It is a very peaceful location, yet only a 5 minute walk from Burford town centre, with its shops, pubs and restaurants. From the apartment there is a delightful 3 mile walk along the edge of the river to the neighbouring village of Swinbrook. The cottage, set within a beautiful pocket of the Cotswolds, has spacious, welcoming accommodation. Internally, the property offers high quality, characterful features including high ceilings and exposed walls to make the cottage unique. Outside there is a secluded sitting area. Locally, there is The Wychwood Golf Club, which has a Freehouse serving good food all day to both players and non-players.(*below.) Accommodation overview: Rectory Cottage, Alvescot is a truly classic Cotswolds cottage built in traditional stone under a Cotswold tile roof, but presented in a beautifully cool and contemporary style that makes it a stunning option for groups or families of up to 10 people. Set overlooking fields and surrounded by period Cotswold properties this delightful holiday cottage offers a very high standard of self catering accommodation. Internally, the owners have created a stunning home, which while contemporary it retains a wealth of period features that give a real sense of warmth and 'welcome'. The accommodation, which is set over three floors and with good size rooms throughout, has many period features through out. Including flagstone flooring, beams and mullion windows but of particular appeal is the kitchen which is, as they say, 'where the heart is': a gorgeous light room with a vaulted ceiling and Aga. When we visited the property we came away with the wow factor very much in our minds, we're confident that you'll feel just the same when you walk through the door too! The cottage is a very good size for four people, but has the advantage of an extra bed if a fifth person wishes to travel*. The living room is particularly attractive with great views across the well tended (but of course!) allotments and fields beyond. The cottage also has two bathrooms which also make it suitable for two couples just as much for a family. The Old Bakery is a converted, period, beamed detached stone property that lies near the green in the village of Kingham. Kingham is an attractive village, situated within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, built predominantly of Cotswold stone with some elegant tiled and thatch roofed cottages.
The village previously won the prestigious title of "England's Favourite Village" as featured in Country Life magazine and was named the best village in England by the Telegraph in 2010.
