Accommodation overview: Lime Tree (ETC 3 Stars) is a well apportioned studio apartment (upstairs from Cider Press), attached to the Mill at Burford. The Mill Stream runs beneath the courtyard and the apartment has a small balcony overlooking a wonderful view of the stream and the surrounding woodland. It is a very peaceful location yet only 5 minutes from Burford town centre, with its shops, pubs and restaurants. From the apartment there is a delightful 3 mile walk along the edge of the River Windrush to the neighbouring village of Swinbrook. Externally the holiday cottage, which is next to the owner's farmhouse, sits overlooking a large and private garden with views across rolling Cherwell valley countryside. Local InformationSomerton is delightful village steeped in history dating back hundreds of years with mentions in the Domesday Book and also links to William The Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings. The church in particular (a Grade One listed building) is relatively famous in local circles for its historical significance. Somerton is no more than 15 mins outside Woodstock, the very popular Oxfordshire market town and just 15 miles from the centre of Oxford. The village also enjoys superb travel links with Bicester train station (to London Marylebone) 10 mins drive away or Junction 10 of the M40 no more than 3 miles away. The village sits on the northern side of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with the River Cherwell and Oxford Canal both meandering through the edge of the village and just moments from this holiday cottage. The meadows at the river are absolutely perfect for evening 'sun-downers'. There are many walks to choose from, right from your door. The very famous and very popular Bicester Shopping Outlet Centre (or Bicester Village as it is called) is 10 mins away if shopping is your thing. There are a variety of good pubs in the locality, but none in the village. Of particular note is The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, one of the prettiest spots imaginable.

Accommodation overview: The Coach House is a classic Cotswold property in so many ways. A converted barn (formerly the Coach House to the Vicarage as you'd expect!) it contains many attractive features that give it that traditional and welcoming feel. The huge, spacious living room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, cream washed walls, oak flooring and open fire set the scene perfectly, with the idyllic view towards the village church simply gorgeous. The barn is set in the grounds of one of the finest houses in this village, and within one of the most 'sort-after' Cotswolds villages - Swinbrook. Within walking distance is the popular and highly regarded pub - The Swan. There are many walks from your front door, including one along the Windrush Valley to Burford. This is excellent location and excellent cottage ideal for two or even four with the extra beds available. Accommodation overview: Church Cottage, Burford is one of those unique holiday cottages which come along only once in a while! Located in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford, and right next to the famous 14th/15th Century church (described as the finest in Oxfordshire) this classic Cotswold cottage has everything to make your holiday truly enjoyable. Internally the cottage has been recently refurbished and provides a holiday home with character, charm and style: light, airy and comfortable, with hints of the 'Art-Deco' period when the house was built.
