Accommodation overview: Pleasant converted stable, retaining many original features. Attractively furnished and all on one level. Matt shall lies in the very heart of Norfolk, central to many of the county's attractions. There are a number of footpaths in the area with both fishing and golf available within four miles of the village. The market town of Dereham is five miles away and offers a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as having a cinema and a sports centre. Matt shall itself has village shops and a pub, with a restaurant in Yaxham one and a half miles away. Wayfarers Cottage is a very pleasant converted stable, which retains many original features. It is located next to a small wooded area on the owner's working farm, with access on request to their one acre attractive garden, which is home to waterfowl and free-roaming peafowl. It provides very comfortable, attractively furnished accommodation, which is all on one level, making it suitable for the less able. Thornage and Little Thornage are neighbouring villages located in the Glaven Valley, one of the most attractive areas of rural North Norfolk. The area is ideal for walking and cycling and just a ten-minute drive from the coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley. Cley Marshes is recognised as one of the UK's premier bird-watching sites. The Georgian town of Holt is just two miles away and offers good quality shops, art galleries and eating places and Holt Country Park, where you can enjoy way marked walks and nature trails. There are two pubs in the neighbouring villages of Hunworth and Letheringsett, which serve good food. Accommodation overview: Old Bean's Cottage was an 18th century former washhouse which has recently been converted into a studio cottage, furnished to an exceptional standard. East Barsham is a small village nestling in quiet, rolling countryside close to the small market town of Fakenham and with excellent access to the North Norfolk Coast at Wells and Holkham. The area is renowned for its bird watching opportunities with Cley and Blakeney easily accessible. National Cycle routes 1 & 2 will take you through some super countryside and villages. With the coast so close and countryside on the doorstep this is a good location if you enjoy walking. The village pub, The White Horse, is within easy walking distance of the cottage. Restaurants, shopping facilities and farmers markets can be found at Fakenham.
