Belaugh is a very pretty hamlet which nestles in a bend of the River Bure between the delightful Broadland villages of Wroxham and Coltishall in the Broads National Park. It is an ideal setting for those who wish to enjoy a peaceful location with good cycling and walking opportunities yet still have the benefit of the amenities the surrounding areas have to offer. The cathedral city of Norwich is only seven miles away and has excellent park-and-ride facilities, or taking the train from Wroxham would mean you can leave the car behind.

It is an ideal location for nature lovers, being the home of Upton Broads and Marshes, and located on the edge of the wildlife trust where there are lovely waterside walks and fishing. Boat hire is available at nearby South Walsham, as well as at Wroxham and Potter Heigham. The village is ten miles between historic Norwich and the bustling seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, which offers a lovely sandy beach as well as a traditional seaside atmosphere. There are many other opportunities for days out close by, offering something for all ages. The village has a pub with further facilities available in Acle, two miles away. Watts Cottage was built over 150 years ago and is a characterful property containing many original features whilst retaining modern facilities. Sandy beach and town are both within easy walking distance. Hunstanton is a popular traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach backed by distinctive striped cliffs. There are reminders of its Victorian origins including the promenade, the large green and the attractive esplanade gardens. Hunstanton town offers a host of activities for the family including a Sea Life Centre, a fun fair, tennis courts, bowling green and a sports and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, crazy golf and pitch & putt course. A little further along is quieter Old Hunstanton, which is a picturesque village with mellow carstone houses, an impressive medieval church and a championship golf course.
