Accommodation overview: Brandon Barn stands in the grounds of the owner's Georgian house - ancient and modern features have been carefully combined to provide light airy accommodation. Strumpshaw is midway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth; it is situated on the highest area of land in the Norfolk Broads, but its main claim to fame is as the home of the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen. Here you may see marsh harriers gliding over the reed beds or hear the booming of a bittern. The village is also the home of Strumpshaw Hall Steam Museum which is well worth a visit. The beaches of the east coast are a short drive away or you can jump on a train from the neighbouring village of Lingwood and enjoy a day exploring the lovely city of Norwich. Accommodation overview: Traditional "roses round the door" cottage with pleasant beamed interior. Little and Great Walsingham lie only a mile apart by the River Stiffkey. Their names are confusing as Little Walsingham is the larger of the two villages and has been a centre of pilgrimage since the 11th century with both Catholic and Anglican shrines. Nearby Great Walsingham is set in the countryside, providing both excellent walking and cycling. The sandy beach at Wells is approximately five miles away. Great Walsingham has a complex of barns which house an arts/craft centre, antiques and the excellent Barn Cafe, whilst Little Walsingham has a number of shops, including an award-winning farm shop as well as pubs/restaurants. This cottage is one of a pretty row of 17th century dwellings at the top of The Green at Great Walsingham with lovely views through the village.
