Accommodation overview: The Paddocks is a single storey property that stands on its own in the grounds of the owner's livery stables. It has recently been renovated and offers spacious comfortable accommodation, with views over the surrounding countryside and paddocks. Frettenham is a quiet, rural village situated just on the edge of the Broads. It is a great base for exploring the many attractions of the area. Wroxham, the heart of the broads is just a short distance away and from here you can hire a day boat and explore the inlets and rivers inaccessible on foot. Bewilderwood is a super, fun attraction nearby for children. The coast at Sea Palling and Eccles Beach offers wide, sandy beaches and is within about twenty miles. Take the train from Wroxham and enjoy the diverse shopping, historic and cultural attractions in the fine city of Norwich. Coltishall, which is just two miles away, is a perfect place to observe the boating whilst enjoying a meal or drink at the riverside restaurants and pubs. Thornage and Little Thornage are neighbouring villages located in the Glaven Valley, one of the most attractive areas of rural North Norfolk. The area is ideal for walking and cycling and just a ten-minute drive from the coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley. Cley Marshes is recognised as one of the UK's premier bird-watching sites. The Georgian town of Holt is just two miles away and offers good quality shops, art galleries and eating places and Holt Country Park, where you can enjoy way marked walks and nature trails. There are two pubs in the neighbouring villages of Hunworth and Letheringsett, which serve good food. Ivy Cottage is a delightful 300 year old cottage with bags of character. It enjoys wonderful views from the garden over the Glaven Valley and is situated in the grounds of the owner's house in the centre of Thornage. The pretty Broadland village of Dilham lies in the centre of a conversation area, thirteen miles North East of Norwich. This is an ideal area from which to explore the unspoilt countryside and waterways of the Broads. Boats and canoes are available for hire nearby at Wayford Bridge, Wroxham and Potter Heigham and The Museum of the Broads at nearby Stalham Staithe is well worth a visit. A little further afield you can explore the beautiful beaches of the Norfolk coast or the vibrant cathedral city of Norwich where you will find a huge selection of places to eat, theatres and galleries. 1 & 2 Brick Kiln Barns are two charming single storey adjoining cottages based on the footprint of an ancient brick moulding barn in the pretty village of Dilham. They stand to the rear of the owner's property overlooking open farmland; the area is perfect for bird watching with several RSPB reserves in the vicinity. Guests are welcome to relax on the lawns and you can use the canoe launching site into a quiet branch of the River Ant, however the fishing rights are reserved for the local kingfishers and the occasional otter. Nature reserves are at Titchwell, Holme and Cley, and there are golf courses at Brancaster, Hunstanton and Fakenham.
