Accommodation overview: Brandon Barn stands in the grounds of the owner's Georgian house - ancient and modern features have been carefully combined to provide light airy accommodation. Strumpshaw is midway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth; it is situated on the highest area of land in the Norfolk Broads, but its main claim to fame is as the home of the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen. Here you may see marsh harriers gliding over the reed beds or hear the booming of a bittern. The village is also the home of Strumpshaw Hall Steam Museum which is well worth a visit. The beaches of the east coast are a short drive away or you can jump on a train from the neighbouring village of Lingwood and enjoy a day exploring the lovely city of Norwich. Brandon Barn stands in the grounds of the owner's Georgian house, and has been tastefully converted to provide light airy accommodation. Ancient and modern features have been carefully combined - the rear wall of the property has been left to expose the Norfolk flints and there are exposed beams in the first floor sitting room and bedroom, while on the ground floor there is a modern kitchen, shower room and dining room. Only three miles inland from the splendid sandy beach at Holkham is the fine village of Burnham Market, where elegant houses and flint cottages cluster around the village green. Hunstanton is a popular traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach backed by distinctive striped cliffs. There are reminders of its Victorian origins including the promenade, the large green and the attractive esplanade gardens. Hunstanton town offers a host of activities for the family including a Sea Life Centre, a fun fair, tennis courts, bowling green and a sports and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, crazy golf and pitch & putt course. Accommodation overview: Traditional "roses round the door" cottage with pleasant beamed interior. Little and Great Walsingham lie only a mile apart by the River Stiffkey. Their names are confusing as Little Walsingham is the larger of the two villages and has been a centre of pilgrimage since the 11th century with both Catholic and Anglican shrines. Nearby Great Walsingham is set in the countryside, providing both excellent walking and cycling. The sandy beach at Wells is approximately five miles away. Great Walsingham has a complex of barns which house an arts/craft centre, antiques and the excellent Barn Cafe, whilst Little Walsingham has a number of shops, including an award-winning farm shop as well as pubs/restaurants. This cottage is one of a pretty row of 17th century dwellings at the top of The Green at Great Walsingham with lovely views through the village. It is a real roses-round-the-door cottage with a pretty garden and beamed interior. The sitting room and main bedroom run across the front of the house giving a spacious feel to the cottage.
