Vicarage House is a square, Georgian, pale brick Norfolk holiday house situated in very extensive grounds. It has a walled garden with large borders, a parterre, a small arboretum and paved terraces with garden furniture on three sides for the capture of sunshine at all times of the day. There is a hard tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool (heated 1st April to 30th October). This luxury holiday rental has a large games room containing a table tennis table, sofas, armchairs, a TV and DVD player and other games. There are also nine adult bicycles and four children's bicycles for use.
There is much to see and do in this area of Norfolk. Great Hockham is in the centre of the Brecklands, an area of environmental sensitivity. A perfect choice for an outdoor break, within 500m of the holiday house is Thetford Forest Park, 50,000 acres of woodland offering bike and walking trails. Within the Forest is a high wire forest experience. In close proximity to the house is the Peddars Way, a Roman road which joins the Norfolk Coastal Path providing 96.5 miles of walks through National Nature Trails. This consists of leafy paths and tree-lined trails.
The village of Great Hockham has a public house and local shops can be found at Watton, a market town six miles away. The Georgian Norfolk town of Wymondham is a 15 minute drive and offers a variety of boutiques and gift shops. Norwich is 25 minutes by car as is the Georgian town of Bury St Edmunds. Newmarket, with its two racecourses and busy racing calendar, is a 30 minute drive. The famous beaches of Brancaster and Holkham are about 30 miles away. The historic houses and gardens of Norfolk are within easy reach.

The nearby market town of Aylsham (2.5 miles) has a weekly Friday morning W.I. market with fresh local produce available as well as a twice monthly Saturday morning farmers market. The picturesque Georgian towns of Holt and Burnham Market offer good eateries and eclectic shops, whilst Wells, Holkham, Sheringham and Cromer offer fantastic beaches, with riding and golf close by too.
Nearby are several magnificent NT properties, including Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall (1.5 miles). Wolterton and Mannington Halls are close by offering walks and tea shops, whilst the acclaimed East Ruston Vicarage Gardens are a short drive away. The Broads and Cley, with renowned bird sanctuaries, are both within easy reach by car.
Miller's Loft is well served by good places to eat and drink: The Erpingham Arms with its real ale is within walking distance; the acclaimed Saracens Head is close by and the award-winning Gunton Arms a short drive away.

Visitors might like to explore the miles of waterways or perhaps sit, relax and watch the boats go by - a perfect way to unwind. The Norfolk coast is within easy reach and the village of Horning is in a good location for fishing, bird watching, sailing, golf, horse-riding and swimming. The village has shops, pubs and restaurants. Bure House is a handsome thatched house, set in a peaceful elevated position well back from the road. Accommodation overview: Good quality, wheelchair friendly barn conversion. One of four cottages which together sleep 18. Shared swimming pool. Once an important place of pilgrimage, the ruins of Bromholm Priory are still to be seen in Bacton today. The Priory was built in 1113 AD by William de Glanville and was home to the Cluniacs, the Black Monks who purchased a piece of the True Cross, the Bromholm Roode. Ensuing miracles ensured visits by many thousands of pilgrims including King Henry III. The Priory was mentioned in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, the Domesday Book, and was the subject of a prediction in Mother Shipton's Almanac. Today the coastal village opens its doors to the 21st century pilgrims who visit for their holidays. They enjoy the friendly village atmosphere and the sandy beaches, which are often quiet even in the height of summer. There is a good range of local amenities including pubs, shops, a children's playground and a bowling green. These four beautifully refurbished cottages are set in the extensive mature and secure gardens and grounds of the 16th century Grade II listed Pilgrims House, which was once the farmhouse of Bromholm Priory. There is shared use of the extensive gardens with a summerhouse, outdoor chess set and croquet. Swimming Pool: At the centre of the complex the 16th Century Grade II listed, thatched barn houses a large 13 x 6 metre heated indoor swimming pool and has exposed beams and stained glass windows, with sauna, shower and wc The pool, with an average year round temperature of 30c, is available for all guests and it may be used between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. There is no lifeguard, so an adult must supervise children at all times and nobody can use the pool area on their own. Exercise Room & Laundry: On the first floor of the gig house/wood store is an exercise room with exercise bike, weights, air hockey and a pool table. The laundry area has a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests to use free of charge. There are also irons and ironing boards. Parking: There is a private car park with parking for one car per property with further free public parking available 30 metres away in Abbey Street.
Pets: One very well-behaved dog per cottage Pilgrims Chase is a high quality conversion of four stables and a feed barn. All the original beams are intact. There are pitch pine and terracotta tile floors throughout. Equestrian memorabilia abound. The Chase is laid out on the ground floor and may be suitable for the less able. Sitting/Dining Room spacious room with comfortable seating, TV, DVD player, digital set-top box, radio/CD player and gate-leg dining table and six chairs. There is a Tudor brick fireplace with gas log fire.
