In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present The Link at Cromer Lighthouse The original Cromer Lighthouse was built in 1680 but the present lighthouse, a white octagonal tower, was built in 1833 and converted to automatic operation in 1990.
The Link (with accommodation for two guests) is one of two semi-detached cottages at the lighthouse, which is a mile from the traditional North Norfolk town of Cromer. A 10 minute stroll along the coastal path or along the beach will take you into Cromer, where you can explore shops, pubs and sample local seafood - notably, the excellent Cromer crab sandwiches. Cromer is a popular holiday destination for families and has a long sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The pier has a theatre and cafe, and is the location of the RNLI life boat station which is open to the public. You can hire dipping nets and buckets there - try to catch your own Cromer crab from the pier! There is an excellent sea-front cafe/restaurant at the lifeboat museum.
Taking the coastal path in the other direction is a short walk into Overstrand where you can then eat in the White Horse restaurant/bar.
The Link makes a perfect Norfolk retreat for golfing breaks. The property is adjacent to the Royal Cromer 18-hole golf course where non-members with a handicap are welcome.
This lighthouse does not have a fog signal.
Access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

The town has a fine pier, a local history museum, a new lifeboat museum, a golf course, multi-screen cinema, Amazonia zoo, indoor children's play barn, Kart Track, cycle hire, shops and restaurants as well as seafront entertainment, making it ideal for a family holiday. Cromer church tower is the tallest in Norfolk and the more adventurous might like to climb to the top to enjoy the wonderful views.
A beautifully restored four storey Victorian, family town house in a central position within the seaside resort of Cromer. Accommodation overview: The beach is just minutes away, as is the town centre. Kittiwake could not be more central and the accommodation is ideal for a family or a couple. This is an excellent location for a traditional seaside holiday. The charming seaside town of Sheringham is an excellent location for a holiday in beautiful North Norfolk. The award-winning beach is of flint pebbles when the tide is high, giving way to a large expanse of smooth sand as the tide recedes. Cliffs rise on either side of the town, which has a backdrop of wooded hills, including those in the wonderful Sheringham Park.
