Set deep in the midst of the Suffolk countryside, yet only a few miles from the A14, the A140 and the A12, Witnesham is a pleasant village with a popular pub, The Barley Mow and a fruit and vegetable wholesaler which also sells local eggs milk and fruit juice. (Both can be reached within a few minutes of The Old Stable.) Fynn Valley Golf Club, open to non-members, is nearby. Historic Ipswich with its theatres, shops, restaurants and frequent rail service to London, is four miles away and a good bus service from the village goes there and to some of the other mid Suffolk villages. Accommodation overview: Bay Tree Cottage is a newly renovated brick and flint cottage with spacious accommodation near to the beach at Mundesley. The village of Mundesley is an excellent location for a seaside holiday. It has a wonderful wide beach by a small promenade and a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Some may enjoy a dip in the sea or perhaps just the chance to relax and enjoy the view, whilst children will love to play on the golden sands. There is a golf course and driving range in the village with both horse riding and sea fishing available locally. Historic houses, steam trains, water sports and nature reserves are all within a short drive. A traditional brick and flint cottage which is approximately 100 years old; and in a sheltered position at the end of a gravel lane. The property has just recently been fully renovated. The Chequers pub in Friston serves a good range of quality food. Only four miles away is the unspoilt coastal town of Aldeburgh, or the idyllic rural beach at Thorpeness.
