Accommodation overview: This delightful and traditional terraced cottage certainly lives up to its name and can be found tucked away from the main thoroughfare of Windermere; far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to stroll to all attractions when it suits. Recent pedestrianisation of Windermere has created a new layout for the town, the paved and cobbled walkways lined with interesting galleries, gift shops and tea rooms. Accommodation overview: Long Meadow Barn details
Long Meadow Barn is a charming, spacious detached converted barn set in the rural village of Down St. Mary. It is the ideal safe rural retreat set within its own garden and yet within easy access of Crediton or Exeter. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and golf with Waterbridge Golf Course less than a mile away. The Two Moors Way runs through Down St. Mary as do a variety of public footpaths. Fishing is also available locally.
There are numerous local country pubs in the surrounding villages, the nearest being The Devonshire Dumpling 1/2 mile away, a short stroll, which serves excellent food. Copplestone, a mile away, features a general store and post office where provisions can be bought. Crediton is seven miles away where there are Indian restaurants which provide home delivery, Chinese takeaways, a leisure centre with public swimming pool, a large Tesco and a smaller Morrisons.
The village of Zeal Monachorum, a couple of miles away, boasts a pub and a small leisure centre that offers an indoor swimming pool, as well as an extensive renowned indoor and outdoor children's play area suitable for all ages which is perfect for those rainy days, skittles, snooker, all of which will entertain the whole family, as well as good food.
Dartmoor National Park is approximately 10 miles away with breathtaking scenery where you can walk and explore the countryside and heritage sites. There are also National Trust properties to explore within easy driving distance such as Castle Drogo, Rosemoor and Knighthayes which offer beautiful gardens and an interesting house. From Morchard Road station,which is 1/2 mile away, the Tarka Line trains run offering lots of walks from a number of stations en route.
Within a short 40 minute drive, there are gorgeous sandy beaches on both the north and south coasts offering sailing, excellent surfing and other water sports. Alternatively, the historic cathedral city of Exeter, 5 miles away, boasts fantastic shopping and numerous excellent restaurants. Sightseeing tours are available or you can explore the Cathedral, underground passages or visit the Northcott Theatre or cinema.

Accommodation overview: An attractive mid-terrace granite cottage set high above the pretty fishing village of Mousehole, with panoramic views across Mounts Bay and only a short walk downhill to the small harbour and beach.
Entered from a rather steep pedestrian lane, a couple of steps lead up to the front porch and an inner door opens directly into a comfortably furnished sitting room with a board and beam ceiling, a light crisp decor and sea views over the village roof tops looking across to the Lizard. Two steps at the rear of the sitting room lead up to a dining area which has the benefit of views through a hatchway in the wall, and a neatly fitted kitchen with a stable door opening to a small service yard.
Carpeted stairs go up to a tiny landing which has doors to a pine furnished double bedroom with stunning views over the garden looking down to the harbour and far out to sea and to a bathroom W.C. with wash basin and electric shower over the bath. To complete the accommodation, a door leads off the bathroom to a second bedroom with sturdy bunk beds which are 5ft 9inch in length and windows overlooking the wooded hillside at the rear.
On the opposite side of the footpath, at the front of the cottage, half a dozen gated steps lead down to a delightful sheltered garden with a patio and sundeck, a small decorative pond and a sloping lawn with partial sea views.
Although the cottage is set away from the busy harbour front, all the village amenities are still within easy walking distance as is the coastal footpath with lovely scenery leading round to Lamorna Valley. Penzance, 3 miles, has a rail and bus terminus and offers trips by boat to the Isles of Scilly. The safe beaches of Mounts Bay are a 10 minute drive.

The pretty Broadland village of Dilham lies in the centre of a conversation area, thirteen miles North East of Norwich. This is an ideal area from which to explore the unspoilt countryside and waterways of the Broads. Boats and canoes are available for hire nearby at Wayford Bridge, Wroxham and Potter Heigham and The Museum of the Broads at nearby Stalham Staithe is well worth a visit. A little further afield you can explore the beautiful beaches of the Norfolk coast or the vibrant cathedral city of Norwich where you will find a huge selection of places to eat, theatres and galleries 1 & 2 Brick Kiln Barns are two charming single storey cottages based on the footprint of an ancient brick moulding barn in the pretty village of Dilham. They stand to the rear of the owner's property overlooking open farmland where the area is perfect for bird watching with several RSPB reserves in the vicinity. Guests are welcome to relax on the lawns and you can use the canoe launching site into a quiet branch of the River Ant, however the fishing rights are reserved for the local kingfishers and the occasional otter. This traditional Lakeland cottage is situated in the heart of Portinscale village, which lies on the Northern shores of Derwentwater and 1 mile from Keswick. The village has a pub, restaurants, a tea room/shop and a marina for those who enjoy sailing. In Keswick there are many shops, galleries, pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions to explore on the rainy days. There are many beautiful mountain walks immediately accessible from Cosey Cottage, including Causey Pike, Catbells, Grisedale Pike and Skiddaw, or low level walks around the Lake.
