Accommodation overview: STYLISH WATERFRONT HOUSE CLOSE TO BEACHES AND PLYMOUTH HARBOUR This impressive waterfront property is situated in a convenient spot on the outskirts of Plymouth set on the riverside you can choose to relax on the balcony and watch the boats up and down the river. Take advantage of Plymouth s varied attractions; the large aquarium lots of shops plus the new indoor shopping centre (Drakes Circus) many restaurants and bars and plenty of nightclubs built around a large harbour. Direct from the property there is a coastal path which takes you past Mountbatten Beach and Jennycliff Beach and beyond to Bovisands a trio of soft sand beaches with shop and restaurant. Water sports are available at the Mountbatten Centre or the Plymouth sailing school. Mount Batten is a small peninsular surrounded by Plymouth harbour and the River Plym. A short walk (5 minutes) along the coastal path takes you to Turnchapel a historic fishing village with a small beach and a few small boats with another two pubs serving excellent food. Walk a little further up onto the Hoe with its swimming pool beaches café bars and panoramic views across Plymouth harbour. The cottage, enlarged and refurbished from an early 17th century fisherman's cottage, has spectacular sea views and stands overlooking a beautiful Cornish beach and harbour. Situated at the end of a footpath it is an ideal venue to unwind. The cottage has steps down to the sandy beach, shared with a neighbouring property. The south-facing garden with two terraces, ideal for al fresco dining and sun bathing, is bounded by a stone sea wall which rises from the rocks and beach below.
Gorran Haven is a pretty fishing village set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with general store/bakery, post office, restaurant, pub/hotel and a public mooring in the harbour in the summer months. It is a few yards from the rockpools and one of Appledore s best family pubs and a 5 minute level walk from Appledore s quayside with its fishing boats crabbing lines galleries and restaurants. There is much to do in the area. Across the estuary is the pretty village of Instow with its sand dunes and sailing club. Or 1 mile in the other direction takes you to the sandy beaches of Westward Ho! the salt marshes of Northam Burrows and the site of England s oldest golf course The Royal North Devon. Other attractions which are short trips away include Clovelly Lundy Island The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. Or you could just enjoy the evening views of the estuary from the small enclosed patio area. Seals have been spotted just below the house. The accommodation is arranged over three floors and retains much charm including steep cottage-style stairs. There are FOUR bedrooms: on the second floor there are 2 singles both accessed via a step up 1 with estuary views and additional trundle bed (can be made into a double or twin on request) and 1 with en-suite shower and WC. On the first floor is 1 large double and 1 bunk room with 2 6 beds (suitable for children under 12). Bathroom: on the first floor has 4 6 bath with shower over bath heated towel rail and WC. The ground floor offers an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner: well-equipped with cooker fridge/freezer dishwasher washing machine (in understairs cupboard) microwave and seating area with a step down to bi-folding patio doors leading to a terrace.
