The National Trust's Blickling Hall, one of the most imposing and majestic stately homes in Norfolk, is three miles to the south, with Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park, Blakeney Point National Nature Reserve and Morston and Stiffkey Marshes all within easy reach. The North Norfolk Coast, most of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is 10 miles away, with outstanding beaches, wildlife, riding facilities and golf courses.
Itteringham, two miles away, holds the nearest village shop, and also a fine dining pub, the Walpole Arms. The Pigs, three miles away at Edgefield, run by locally renowned Iain Wilson of Byfords in Holt, is a country dining pub with bags of character - particularly note the Pudding Club after Sunday lunch. Slightly further afield, the Gunton Arms in Thorpe Market, 10 miles away, is the 2013 Michelin Pub of the Year.

Longstraw nestles at the end of a row of three, with a large lawned garden to the side and pretty patio to the front looking out over the countryside. Just a few minutes stroll will take you to the village centre with its charming mix of thatched cottages, local stores and a great choice of pubs and restaurants. The beach path also winds its way from the village to beautiful Croyde Bay and the softest golden sands backed by dunes. Being in the same location as our cottage Thatcher’s Leggett gives a perfect opportunity for extended families or friends to enjoy their own space while holidaying together. With a high vaulted ceiling giving a sense of space and light, the spacious comfortable open plan living room has a log burning stove for cosy evenings all through the year and a modern well equipped kitchen /dining area. An attractive twin bedroom and shower room is also on the ground floor. From the entrance hallway a solid wood staircase rises up to the mezzanine floor and a spacious double bedroom with separate dressing room and ensuite bathroom. This attractive galleried landing area, with far reaching views, is a lovely spot for relaxing in the comfy chairs to read a book or the morning papers, and a second TV is a useful bonus for families. A real treat is the large lawn to the side of the cottage, ideal for children to run and play, and the pretty front patio is just perfect for leisurely al fresco meals, barbecues or just relaxing at any time of day.
