Magnificent topiary trees line the huge lawned areas, fringed by colourful displays of rhododendrons and other annuals in deep, accented borders. The setting is idyllic - a herd of deer at dawn or dusk can regularly be seen gently grazing the nearby 2 acres of woodland in which guests are free to explore. Dairy Cottage is also extremely peaceful - but for the sound of running water, the hoot of an owl or the occasional cluck from the chickens who produce the freshest, free range eggs, 1/2 a dozen provided as part of a small welcome pack, courtesy of the owners.
