Accommodation overview: Grange-Over-Sands and surrounding districts are a delightful area of the South Lakes, offering an interesting selection of historic seaside resorts and quaint rural villages. Grange is an elegant town, with a long, sweeping promenade fronting the Bay, lined with antique and collectors shops and cafes. Cartmel famous for its Priory and race meetings is well worth a visit, if only to sample the local sticky toffee pudding. Allithwaite is a short drive from both Grange and Cartmel and is only about 7 miles from the southern tip of Lake Windermere with easy access to the higher fells. Fairview, an end terrace cottage, has been completely renovated to provide exceptional levels of comfort. The accommodation is set out over three floors. The kids are going to love it here, but so will the adults, with views across the sea to the scottish hills, magnificent sunsets and miles of walks along the beach.Allonby is a convenient base for day trips to the Borders, Southern Scotland and The Lake District National Park. You could be in bustling Keswick in half an hour or the more peaceful, remote and unspoilt Western Lakes in about 45 minutes. Visit historic Carlisle (30 minutes) with its medieval castle, Norman Cathedral and museum or have a day out at the Roman fort and museum at Housesteads and walk along Hadrians Wall (about 1 hours drive)

Newly built in 2004 and designed with a cottage style in mind, The Spinney is luxuriously furnished and equipped with a Four Poster bed and cosy open fire giving a romantic air to the accommodation. Situated in the village of Lamplugh in a wonderful rural location 6 miles south of Cockermouth, it is close to Loweswater, Ennerdale Water and Crummock Water. This peaceful non-commercialised area of the Lake District is the perfect setting for a romantic break. Fishing is available locally at Cogra Moss, which is within walking distance and there are many other beautiful walks locally. The Coast to Coast cycle route goes past the front door and the award winning Kirkstile Inn is close by for bar meals. Cockermouth is well worth a visit, with shops, restaurants, Brewery Tours and the Lakeland Sheep and Wool centre to name a few of the attractions. Trotters Animal World is a mere 20 minute drive and the seaside town of St Bees is a similar distance.

Accommodation overview: Lindale is a delightful village in the south Lakes, only 2 miles from Grange Over Sands which can be reached in 5 minutes by car or 40 minutes walk for those more energetic of you. Grange was a popular resort of the Victorians and still today retains an historic feel with the lovely promenade fringed by delightful tea rooms and craft shops. Lindale is well placed for exploring all of the Lakes and Furness Peninsula, Windermere Lake being only only 15 minutes drive. The village itself has a local store, well supported village hall and two pubs offering real ale and excellent food.

This 18th century house adjoins Newton House, the 2 properties may be let separately or together for up to 22 people and are set in over an acre of grounds. It is 1/2 mile from Ravenglass, a pretty fishing village on the Cumbrian Coast, with sandstone houses, pubs, hotels, shops and cafes. The Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gauge railway operates from the village station and travels along the Eskdale valley. Wast Water, Englands deepest lake, Sca Fell our highest mountain and the beautiful Wasdale and Eskdale valleys are all nearby and offer great walking.
