The cottage is set in 4 acres of mature walled gardens and woodland, with a river running through the heart of it. Footpaths lead to the lower Lakeland Fells, a waterfall (ideal for picnics) and spectacular coastal views. Skiddaw View is situated in a peaceful, rural area, surrounded by open farmland and with views to the Lake District Mountains. Aldoth is in North West Cumbria, 5 miles from the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and the wonderful Cumbrian coast and within easy reach of The Lakes, Carlisle and Hadrians Wall. There are numerous nature reserves along the coast and excellent walks along the beaches and nearby fells. The nearest pub is 3 miles, at Abbey Town, with many more amenities in Silloth including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops. There are 2 golf courses within 5 miles, one at Aspatria and the award winning Links course at Silloth.

Cockermouth is famous as the birth place for William Wordsworth but has many other attractions, including The Sheep and Wool Centre, numerous art galleries, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and a good selection of Restaurants, Shops and Pubs. At Maryport there is the Harbour, Maritime museum and Aquarium of the Lakes. The border City of Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive. Barn Cottage and Loft Cottage are adjoining each other on a working farm, next to the owners house. They may be let separately or together for up to 11 people.

Accommodation overview: From the moment you get out of your car a feeling of calm will descend over you and all the stresses of modern day living will vanish. The hamlet of Bootle Station is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Station Cottage has an unusual location, adjoining the owners home, Station House situated right on the station itself. There are only 7 trains a day trundling along this line which runs from Carlisle to Barrow. The beach is within easy walking distance, where you can walk for miles along this unspoilt coastline. The beautiful valley, of Eskdale and Wasdale are close by. The miniature railway at Ravenglass, affectionately known as Laal Ratty will take you all the way to Eskdale Green, the kids will love it. Also at Ravenglass is Muncaster Castle and grounds. Dating back almost a 1000 years it is the ancestral home of the Pennington family and is a must see on your holiday.

The front garden looks over the Solway Firth to the Scottish Hills and has the most spectacular sunsets. The beach is great for dog walking and extends for miles in either direction, with Silloth to the north and Allonby to the south. Isabels Cottage has a wet room and a bedroom on the ground floor, which will be an advantage to guests with mobility problems.
